My experience with viper

Viper has been fun for me but I mostly been goofying off at a higher apm on a skill speed build. Mostly just as a way to practice rotation and memorizing what to do with less hesitation.

Steel Fang / Dread Fang: 1.90s
Uncoiled Fury: 2.67s
Reawaken: 1.67s
Generation 1 to 4: 1.52s
Ouroboros: 2.28s

Skill speed only at 2550 at the moment. Still room for improvement. Mostly mildly curious if the hardcap is 1.5 for vipers abilities.

At first I didn't quiet understand what the job was meant to do. But it sort of just, clicked, on the first trial boss of DT.

Maybe its just because I am doing a higher apm version of viper, but I found that Dreadwinder+True North is a fairly sound opener. Though it should only be taken with a grain of salt as I personally don't know if its the most optimal.

Also instead of using Steel Fangs, I found myself using Dread Fangs more often to keep the debuff on the enemy refreshed. Meanwhile using another usage of Dreadwinder with the 2 Coils to refresh the two buffs you get as viper (Hunter and Swiftskin).

For new vipers, who have trouble following along, just click the glowy buttons. In fact on the buff timers you will get an icon letting you know in advance what your next combo button will be.

i try viper and while iam enjoying it, its definitely not a class to play if your internet not stable like mine

i play with roughly 150-200ms and sometimes it get spiked for a second or two, and when it happen it mess up my rotation so bad i end up drawing blank for a second

its really fun class though

Oh that that is understandable if your internet does that. As that lag spike might be unforgiving if it was in the middle of refreshing and extending the debuff duration.

Steel Fangs is higher potency than Dread Fangs, though, so it should be prioritized outside of needing a refresh on Noxious Gnash. I really only use Dread Fangs if I need a refresh on the debuff and I don't have any Dreadwinder charges left. It feels very much like Reaper's Shadow of Death/Death's Design.

I very much agree with that as its there for when you are fine on noxious gnash. My own rotation I still need to refine and improve.

Desperately hoping they do some animation lock/button register adjustments during their first patch for Savage adjustments and stuff. There are times when my Twinfang/Twinblood second OGCD just REFUSES to go off even though I'm mashing the button. Game will just randomly decide that I didn't mash the button before moving back to the rest of my combo. It's sooooo frustrating.

I'm really enjoying Viper. It's at 100. I love the VPR burst. The Reawaken sequence is so flashy and fun. My biggest issues so far are the Dreadwinder abilities are a slower GCD which feels weird in the opener since it comes after your main combo so you have to wait a second to use Dreadwinder. And I think they went overboard on the button consolidation. I don't like that Serpent's Tail turns into the legacies because where I had serpent's tail pre-100 is not a good spot to spam the way you have to weave the legacies, so I had to put a second serpent's tail on my hotbar in a better spot to use for the legacies which throws me off a bit when both buttons light up.

The balance has the current Viper opener out if you're interested. It's pretty long, but basically it's Dread Fang, Swiftskin, then 1 Dreadwinder combo into Reawaken combo, then finish your main combo, then Uncoiled Fury combo twice, before finishing with your other Dreadwinder combo.

Ah okay, thank you. I had been experimenting a little bit with that but wasn't entirely sure what the general consensus was for the 2nd dreadwinder use. Good to know that is how to do it.

this happened a lot to me but i though it just my internet bonking me

the double weaving for twinfang and blood is tight and sometimes when it proc, if you press it to fast it didnt register, weird
