[DT Concepts/Spoiler] Implications are Big, Words not so much.

Regardless of the Hiccups, Pacing, or Other Story Issues one may see or interpret.
FFXIV Dawntrail Contains and Brought us alot of new concepts and ideas.
Ideas that may up end alot of previously impossible things.
and just gave us a Skeleton Key.

First off.
The "Key" from the Milalla(which then was shown to be a Shard Spread Concept)
a Thing Capable of Merging the Shards.
Seamlessly, and disregarding everything that could come from it, good and ill.
(a singular object that the Ascians would of wanted or liked without a doubt. More so once shelled up with Electrope. ~Despite the fact that Emet Knew Of The Golden City. So he must of heard of the Key~)
and if you noticed at the start of the final trial.
The Mark/Symbol of Azem appearing on said key.(and our "Charge"/ownership of it for now.)

a literaly object, that with the right tech and setup. and something to manage it, could do what the Ascians could not.
(regardless of the story, i doubt we will do any actual merging. as we know these shards, the more we want to preserve them.)

Electrope
Regardless of what occurs to the City after the fact(if at all)
There is now a Limited but highly Versatile material. One that in its concept, is etched into stone. (unlikely to cause issues in the large scheme of Eitherys of today. Due to the overall peace maintained. The only issue is with small grounds trying to wakanda the tech away from Gulool Ja and Tuliyolal)

3rd
The Dwarves/Milalla/Lalafell had known/originated from the source.
with all the plot points tying up with the Variant Dungeon.
It just empowers a liked and disliked concept that (XI could be a shard. while i personally would rather it be a separate start. Well have to wait for the Alliance Raid to be more sure.)

there are more newer and other concepts that i dont really have time to think about extensively.
but as for the world, the really ripped open a tear into the Universe, one that could lead to high threats, or bring us to question what it was that the Unsundered Azem/Player had with all of these things. (or at least what Emet had done to all these things. if it was not the player who had found the key first.)


What are your thoughts or concern on some of the new Concepts brought in with Dawntrail?
Regardless of how we may personally feel about the storys flaws or features.

(like with Vidraal, Commercialization of Souls for the Living, The gamble of Blessed~or basically imposible like the 3rd Promise's Existence.)

The Key isn't an *entirely* new concept--given the plot of SHB, although we know the Key was likely not involved with that given Graha's response to it. I like the idea of a people finding out how to cross the rift, and us having to reverse engineer it, but I don't like how it's tied to a relic seemingly on the Source. Maybe some more plot later on will sell that to me.

Electrope, Memoria, Auracite, Ceruleum...honestly none of that bothers me. It's something that affected various societies, their rise, their fall. I'm not that worried about a "Wakanda" situation at all. Look what happened to Garlemald. They had a nigh exclusive resource at the time, too.

More specifically, the Milalla on Alexandria seemed to originate from the Source. There's no evidence of the Dwarves on the First being in the same situation. Remember, the Key only successfully worked once.

As for FFXI....maybe? We don't know nearly enough. I would have said it could have been the 4th Astral Era, and that would line up with your theory, but Shattoto's existence as a Mhachi and creator of Black Magic would starkly contrast FFXI, and Shantotto, who is very obvious OOC inspiration for the former..
