GNB feels slow an slightly boring now

Leveling my GNB thru the MSQ for Dawntrail.. having been at 90 for a while the class just feels empty during its 2min burst without the gap closer being weaved between burst strike continuation..

It might get better once I reach lv100 and get the Beast King combo but that's only 3 buttons where as the burst continue is a 6 button input.. being 8 when we had rough divide..

Dose it feel more active at lv100 or am I just going to be snoozing thru gameplay for the rest of the combat side of the expansion?

Job design has just hit a new low in DT i think.
If you think Gnb has it bad, try Dark knight. 2 minutes of unfiltered 1234 spam.
Bloodweapon and Plunge got removed, and Drk's mana economy has been nerfed for whatever reason. So you're not even allowed to weave anything alongside it anymore.
And the burst doesn't even have flare anymore. You're the same as any other tank now when it used to be Drk's thing.

DRK was my main from HW till the end of StB.. I retired my greatsword after the damage SE did to it during ShB.. I know Healers have it bad.. but really feels like they wanna make us tanks into 123 spam classes or inferior copies of WAR

GNB is very good, except the removal of the dash damage, asbolutely nothing changed.
2 meaningless oGCDs won't define the fun, we're not talking about Kaiten.

Especially with new dungeon where mobility is very important, I've had to be creative with the new dash instead of just dumping it in the burst window.

GNB rotation remains similar to what we know, the 3 Lion heat replace the 3 burst strike.
In exchange, we exit the No Mercy phase with more cartridges or can start with no cartridges. The filler changes a lot, making it more interesting.

I mean I said before getting the beast king combo it feels slow without the oGCD from the gap closer.. with the new combo being just 3 as opposed to the 6 we do now previously 8 from Endwalker I don't see it being much better..

So far for dungeons I havnt needed a gap closer.. everything is so telegraphed and shown or so fast an dose no damage that it's not really needed..

Plus we're already overcapping our bullets with the pre-lv100 combo an having to do burst strike outside of 2min and 1min window.. having more bullets after the bloodfest will just mean further overcapping and spending outside of buffs..

I'm disappointed that the devs didn't add Continuation skill for the lower levels to make up for the fact that we no longer have Rough Divide as a damage oGCD, which would have made lower levels as Gunbreaker a bit more tolerable... I'm also not a fan of the Sonic Break change as I would rather be able to use it outside of No Mercy window, and I wish I could use the new combo OUTSIDE of Bloodfest... though I would LOVE to have Lightning Shot to grant Rough Divide as a Continuation skill.

They literally do not give a shit about any content that isn't current expac at max level specifically.

Yeah I agree.. but even then I don't think trading in a 6 button combo for a 3 button one(actually 1 button since they're all comboed) will feel much better.. maybe I wrong an lv100 will be great once im done with the story but I doubt it and it's really putting a sore spot on my enjoyment of tanking..

I haven't noticed any difference after settling into not using the gap closer for damage, imo, pre 100 GNB feels the best to play out of all the tanks, the rotation feels very fluid and satisfying.

What I think has changed your opinion is the nature of the gap closer, it is far, far less responsive then the old one. With Rough Divide, you'd click it, then insta dash to the target, it felt good to use if you had thf opportunity to use it to close gaps because of how snappy it was.
But this new one feels sluggish, there's a delay at the beginning and end of the dash, you don't seem to even go straight to the target but stop a foot away from them and it all feels really bad.
