Job/Class Change UI ideas

So, how many of you frequently change between different classes? For those of you do, you've either got a set of macros set up to handle re-equipping your gear and abilities, or you're doing a lot of clicking around in the UI. It's really a lot more tedious than it needs to be.

What this game eventually needs is a proper "Class Change" user interface. Something conceptually similar the Job Change in some of the single-player Final Fantasy games.

The workflow could be something like:

1. Change to your desired job
2. Click an 'Optimize' option to auto-equip gear, or manually equip gear.
3. Select your abilities

Once those are done, it remembers each set you pick and switches to them when you change your job - no macros necessary.

Does anyone else hope to see something like this implemented down the line? Any other good UI enhancements you'd like to see?

I just wear lvl 1 gear since stats don't do anything in this game anyway.

BUMP good Idea. Optimize for what type you want to play in that class. For PUG, DD, Tanking, ect...mages Infeeb, Heal, Nuke ect. GOOD IDEA

What we need are templates that let players change to a previously saved class/equipment/ability loadout configuration instantly. And by instantly - I mean this takes no longer than 2 seconds; the current macro system is NOT cutting it.

I want to go from Tank to DD and be ready to perform for my group at the drop of a hat when needed. I can do that in other games - why not here?

Meh I like the Class system as it is let's me make w/e job I want if I decide to put the time in to rank up that class.

The only thing I would like would be nothing more than a way to save my Action bar set ups like my macros, switching gear isn't all that time consuming takes like 30 seconds that's with no macros. But to be able to click a button and have my Con Abilities Load up at the drop of a hat would be very convenient not oh my God ground breaking but nice, otherwise I think there are other things they can do.

As for being able to change classes at the drop of a hat and going in guns blazing into battle that would be hard since quiet a few abilities (especially cross class abilities) require a cool down before you can use them anyway. Would be nice but might break the game otherwise. But I am all for being able to save and load my Action bar Quickly!
