so when i boot up ffxiv i play the ps4 version on the ps5 i was told this was the better choice back when i got my ps5 some years ago. now that dt has downloaded i keep being asked to launch the ps5 version, sure ok. but when i try to change version it says 3D 15H. its not a download and idk wtf is going on, maybe somebody can help here
3D 15H is the timer for the launch of Dawntrail (3 days, 15 hours).
Click on the butten with the (...) beside the timer and click on "show game" or whatever it is called in english. Should be the only option.
There you should be able to download the game.
This has me several layers of worried.
I also only have the PS4 version installed on my PS5, with the PS5 program currently displaying as "unavailable" either via the View Product button or by looking it up in the PS Store, so my only option was to download the update for the PS4 version.
Additionally, the PS5 is either downloading inexplicably slow or (hopefully) just isn't downloading at all while in rest mode, because on Wednesday night it was saying 14 hours to download, last night it was 10 and tonight it is still seven hours until the download is complete.
And now from this I'm hearing that once it reaches the end of what may be a four-day download, all I'm going to get is a "sorry, you need to download the other version of the file that won't unlock until Tuesday"
UPDATE: OP is mistaken or has phrased their post misleadingly. There is a pop-up when starting the PS4 program that recommends you use the PS5 program instead, but there is no requirement to do so.
I have the ps5 version and it's making my ps5 hard crash every 10ish to 20 minutes. I can't play at all. I gave up this afternoon trying everything suggested from reddit to twitter. I filed a bug report.
