Ok what is the point of not being able to stack dots on sage?

Sage in it's addition to the game has felt like an apology to those who missed the dps rotation on old scholar and the media tour showcase made A LOT of people excited about double dots being back. So how was removing the SHOWCASED feature a good idea?! Yoshi your team is awesome and it's your game to make but bruh... that was just mean man...

for the 8000th time. I don't think the devs care about how fun something is
if it's viewed as unhealthy for the game. It's is their RIGHT as the games
OWNERS and CREATORS to influence job systems to what they find optimal for the majority of players (even if we feel like a disgruntled majority sometimes). If you become unhappy with the state of the PRODUCT that is this game then you must speak with your wallet or adapt like i have begrudgingly from stormblood :(. It;s taken me too long to not go too hard armchair critiquing BaLaNcE and gOoD dEsIgN because honestly not matter what they do we'll never all be satisfied. Yeah healing in casual content feels sleepy and bad but that shouldn't be the end of the world for anyone. especially if you've seen the previous update decisions and reworks. Apparently in the HW days the 2 phys ranged were casters.

I have to admit, I was kind of expecting this... It seemed from the beginning that it was unintentional and they just forgot to stop them from stacking, but I have to say I'm still a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to playing SGE this upcoming tier because of the two dots and the addition of Psyche.

I imagine the point is simply to make it easier to balance. That seems to be the reasoning behind 90% of the homogenisation and job design recently - which I can appreciate, they certainly make balancing gradually harder as they add more and more jobs. But I think I personally would prefer slightly worse balancing for slightly better job individuality... Every healer having a single 30s DoT, one spammable GCD and then one vaguely unique cooldown you can press only 1-3 times a minute really makes it feel like levelling the same class four times over rather than four individual classes.

SCH is better than SGE in near every category and them considering soteria and recitation equivalent isn’t going to help this, nor is how much stronger seraphism is over philosophia

Over half of your own post is whining about it. So no.
The point of not being able to stack dots on Sage is to keep things as absolutely brain dead as possible, which is exactly the problem that that strike seeks to address.

The developers realized Sage, the "DPS healer", could get 80% of a single Energy Drain's damage per minute added to their rotation and got scared. That 80 potency per minute would absolutely ruin the game. People would be stacking 6 Sages to completely obliterate DPS checks!

What it ''broils'' down to is every job MUST have a low skill ceiling.
Imagine the horror of good players performing slightly better than mediocre players.

Don't worry as they might also fix Baneful Impaction to not stack with Biolysis.. It's a matter of when.

Yeah it sucks that SGE was 'robbed' of some potential DPS options, BUT DOTs suck in xiv so I'm kinda glad it's not gonna be a thing. I would rather it get a frequently occurring burst phase kinda like Hypercharge than a second DOT.
