Next Healer Job Epiphany

I just realized: Since Sage is literally old Scholar with double dots and Psyche being Shadow Flare v2, I have a strong feeling that they're going to add Geomancer as a healer and make it old White Mage. This would be the most likely way they appeal to both types of healer players.

It sounds crazy, but think about it for a minute: If they are giving Sage--Scholar's heal kit almost 1:1 but with the DPS kit of Stb Scholar, and two abilities that roughly resemble Rouse (Zoe/Physis II), it makes sense that they would release more new healers but with the rough summary of the kits of old healers. For example, Geomancer would involve using wind for DOTs (Aero 3 for example), water for healing and earth for direct damage.

Also, Bard was a support job in previous iterations but was made a DPS here, so it would be plausible for CBU3 to bend the rules and give Geomancer healing capabilities.

Whatever the next healer job is, I hope it's job fantasy excites me more than Sage. I was so excited for sage imbuing it's spells to change them, just for it to function the way it does.

Geomancer is already a healer in XIV's lore anyway. It's how the far eastern Astrologians are called.

Next healer job? Look how long it took to get sage! Lol there will be no new healer job for this mmmo.

Lmaoing at the thought of CBU3 releasing another melee DPS for 8.0 instead of literally anything else. Hot take: The next two jobs should be a tank and a healer if not AT LEAST phys ranged.

My guess is phys ranged and melee dps because they are in love with melee dps. Granted a second scouting class has been long overdue.

We're pretty even now on this in terms of what we've gained.

since the launch of the ARR we've gotten 2 tanks, 2 healers, 2 phys r, 2 casters and 4 melee. (1 strike, 2 scout, 1 maim)

Not getting a rphys would be a slap in the face in a way, but you know what? I wouldn't even care if I can just get the current 3 rphys jobs to be reworked into something actually engaging and unique to play. Guess that's how desperate I've gotten.

SE can barely handle the current healers and tanks. We'll never get new ones. lol I'm not even joking.

We might get new ones but you are right it doesn't matter when it will inevitably devolve into what is barely better than a skin of the tank/healer singularity we are fast approaching.

Rather than adding a job that doesn't seem to add anything new to the role, they should first fix the existing jobs' identities and make it feel like they just added 3 new jobs to the game, for probably around the same amount of work.
