Will the typeface used for the maps still be used after 2.0? I spent all morning learning how to write in that form just so I could read it more fluently, so I really hope it's still used. I even have a chart of all 26 letters in capital and lowercase for my own reference, which I will probably post somewhere. I would also like to know what the typeface is called and if we can download it for use in other applications. It's beautiful, even if it's difficult to read.
It was used on the Shposhae map, and probably some others, so I know it wasn't limited to the maps available at launch. Please keep using it. It gives the map a more authentic feel in spite of the tacky markers made for people who don't have the patience to learn these things. The ability to read it makes me feel more immersed in the game's culture, and I know I'm not the only one mystified by game world intricacies like this.
I know the HUD will be using a lot of sans-serif fonts to look more modern and flashy, but I hope there's a place for this excellent typeface.

If you google eorzea font you can find it, and yes, it needs to stay on the maps with an option to toggle the english, japanese, french, etc. words on and off.

Great ideas! I hope they let us swap languages freely in the game, especially for maps. I speak a little Japanese, so it would be nice to have another means to practice reading it.
