I wish they would put the Gladiator arena to work

One of the few things I greatly miss from WoW (Yes yes, WoW is the devil incarnate, but not everything it did was bad) was the Brawlers Guild. In short, its the Bozja duels, but each player had a progression of fights and would queue up in the arena. People could crowd around and watch the fights as well.

Sadly the Bozja duels only allow 1 fight and done, randomly appear. But putting the Gladiator Arena to use, could just queue up for a fight, and you get to watch other players fight while waiting.

It just makes me sad we have an whole arena just sitting there, practically unused (Even by the job quest).

The Bloodsands arena is used for a few special instanced fights actually - at least one PLD Job quest, and a Hildibrand quest involves it - unfortunately because it is specifically part of the GLA's Guild, it can only really be used with GLA/PLD (the Hildibrand quest was more a cutscene that was set in it).

The main reason SE has never used it for PvP though is pragmatism - there is already issues on some servers (*cough* Balmung *cough cough*) of too many players idling around there, so if it was used for PvP it would pretty much break Ul'dah (this is why PvP is in it's own unique area away from the three cities - to keep things stable).

So alas, you will never see the Bloodsands arena used for anything other than some GLA/PLD quests I'm afraid.

The arena is used by the Paladin job quests, the Samurai job quests and the Blue Mage Masked Carnivale.

The Masked Carnivale uses a different (noticeably larger) arena.

I'd just like to say, the proposed duels (Like Bozja), are PVE based. That's all.

Hey, I've always thought they should have something similar to FF7's battle arena from the gold saucer in FFXIV. That would be a great place to host it. ARR was pretty rugged, and I think they should make use of it to add some flavor to the game, instead of all this flowery fluffy stuff all over everything.

I would be game for spectator spaces for sure. I mean, can you imagine having a spectator area at Costa Del Sol for something like THIS?

Okay, so I just wanted an excuse to say I want bumper boats in FFXIV. I'm not sorry.

I personally don't mind over world PvP, so long is consensual on both party before engaging PvP act.

With that said, having more place other than wolf den to conduct consensual PvP is ideal as well.

Just make sure the act of spamming someone else with PvP request is a bannable offense.
