Housing Woes

So out of frustration I decided to collect data to provide information. This is regards to housing. I am on the Aether Data Center. 8 Servers. I have utilized The Goblet on 8 all attached servers to pull this together. Goblet has a total of 30 Wards with 60 plots per ward totally 1800 plots. Across 8 servers that is 14400 plots. As of today and going through all 8 servers, there are a total of 85 houses available for Auction/Purchase. This number does include housing waiting to be claimed by recent lottery. This equals .60% of housing is available across the servers. I don't even know how many people there are per server. Seems a little unfair.

Smalls are relatively easy to get.

Mediums and Mansions deal with up to 200ish+ people every lottery, it's insane.

I really want to believe you. And I have seen it happen from time to time. But in my home server of Midgardsormr, out of the 10 available at the moment, only 8 are Small Houses.

Please understand that I am not complaining or throwing a hissy fit. I just wanted to put it out there.

It doesn't matter how the numbers compare to a server's population. Not everyone wants to own a house.

What matters is how many players on a server want to own a house, are eligible to own a house and still can't get one without being forced to transfer to a different world.

From SE's perspective, they're trying to use housing to rebalance world populations in a region. If a player wants a house bad enough, transferring is an option and data center travel allows them to continue playing with their friends.

It's just sad that SE has chosen to stick to such an awkward and unsatisfying housing system that didn't account for the differences between how the game is played versus what makes a real life neighborhood feel active.

When the subward division was first released for private housing, we were all a little let down that it was just a duplication of the free company houses.
They were never really prepared for 'private housing the way the community hoped they were. Even those apartment buildings were just extra storage for house items mostly.

The few mediums that are available in said ward are in the GC only wards as they're in the 1st few wards. The three smalls for goblet alone on Midgardsormr are in the personal only wards. Midgardsormr used to be fairly small but has been congested more often than not.
