Astro job action feedback

When watching the job action trailer for astro and thinking on how the class will work, it was clear to me that a 60 second cooldown on Draw or in this case Sleeve draw would make the job really boring besides the lack of RNG. They should put the cool down on 40 seconds instead, because it would keep the tempo for the people who enjoy Endwalker astro and for casuals it would still hit the mark for understanding and introducing them to the class at a slightly faster speed because the card system has been simplified.

WHY 40 SEC IS BETTER FOR 8 MAN CONTENT

60 sec for the new card system is worse for the raiding scene than 40 sec because you will most likely always be saving the second dmg card for 2 minutes, rather than using it with 1 minute cooldowns. If Sleeve Draw’s cooldown was 40 seconds, you will also be able to use 1 damage card during the 1 minute burst phase. I believe it will still be enjoyable for those who like to draw cards every 30 seconds as a compromise for drawing 4 cards at once. This would feel better in the raid scenario, it’s just slightly faster.

CASUAL AND MIDCORE CONTENT

While doing dungeons or normal raids/bozja/eureka etc. having the card system on 40 seconds won't really affect them

1.)The card system being on 60 seconds or 40 seconds will still give the new/casual players plenty of time to use all 3 types of cards without being overwhelmed while maintaining the simplicity of the new design.

2.)Additionally, at 40 seconds the players will feel like they have something to do similarly to Astro in Endwalker instead of waiting for a long cooldown to finish.


Final Thoughts

Coming from someone who does everything from spamming dungeons to ultimate raiding these are my final thoughts.

Now believe me, I wish the RNG stayed, and I hope they bring it back in 8.0. It's what made the class fun and gave it its identity, but as of 7.0 that's gone and we have to live with that and make the best of the situation. Turning the cooldown to 40 seconds and tweaking some numbers for the cards would overall feel better; it would also make it feel less like aetherflow which is always on a 1 minute cooldown. This would be a step in the right direction for casual players to savage players.


Finally, I hope that cards of the same type don’t have the same effects, e.g. the lord/blue damage card doesn’t give the same buff as the lady/purple damage card. If not, Ast will probably feel even worse.

TLDR make the card system 40 seconds instead of 60 seconds because it's better and would be a step in the right direction for everyone
