Flickering shadows/lights

Hi, I'm pretty new and I started playing around August/September and I was having no issues with the game until I went away from my PC for a week during Christmas/New Year. After I came back, I updated NVDIA and this is where everything got weird.

All my settings got changed to random ones recommended by NVDIA, which not only made the game uglier but also (somehow) made me lose FPS. I changed the settings back to Maximum and now it looks sligthly different, but what's bothering me the most are the shadows and lights flickering when there's a bit of movements, and when I arrive somewhere it takes about 15sec before the shadows get unblurry, so they look like a pixelated mess for 15sec.

I tried changing every settings and tried about every combinations of graphical settings I could but to no avail. I even tried uninstalling, waiting for a few month and then came back to the game and the problem is still there.
I checked a Youtube video of someone doing the same MSQ as I am right now and they're having no issues (like me in 2023) while I have bad lightings and pixelated shadows.

I havn't changed anything on my PC since the 1st time I launched the game, and all the other games I have played do not have those issues : they're unchanged, only FF14 is affected.

Could you upload a screenshot of the issue? NVIDIA App/GeForce Experience just alter the settings, you can deactivate that in the program.
Maybe you have changed the shadow settings which is in the character settings menu.
Please also provide full system information via the Final Fantasy XIV System Information, copy and paste the full text.

This kind of flickering, tho there it was more tame than it usually is and fixed faster than it usually does. Yesturday it took 15sec to fix and would look even more blurry when I arrived.

But as you can see, it's all blurry at first and after standing next to it for a bit, the shadow becomes clean, be it the weird puff balls or the trees.

PS: When I check "Use low-detail models on distant objects. (LOD)", the bug disappears but obviously now I have uglier scenary.

Hi, i just checked it on my PC and its the same as in your Video. Never noticed though.
Its seems normal in FFXIV here, maybe wait for the graphic update with 7.0. There will be plenty of changes in this direction.
