The graphics update is dumb AI upscale of textures with weird bugs

Without full game what we can access is mostly limited to character creator, but I already found out some weird stuff going on.

Consider the Miqo'te racial panties. They have proper seams along the edges:

In benchmark seams are completely gone on the edges and AI has hallucinated some nonsense (that looks like...octopus suckers :rolleyes:) instead of middle seams:

Well from this is clear that all textures were upscaled by some AI algorithm and all the bugs with hair textures or flattened look of characters are result of it.

AFAIR they do not have highres versions of the texures anymore. So they do have to upscale the lowres ones. And yes, there are some weird bugs with them. I hope, they fix them in DT.

Well, octopus suckers on panties were not on my Bingo card for DT.

Its pretty obvious a lot of these textures are just ai upscaled imo

That looks like a deal breaker for me.


AI is not smart enough to do people's jobs yet, if the graphical update is about losing details then we don't need it.


I have noticed characters look like anime or cartoons in the character creator, I can't see the chins or any contours on the face as they look before Dawntrail.

ITs fine to do that, but for some of those "we dont have high ress anymore" textures id really wished they'd just make new ones...
