Nerf gil profit from submarine

Can SE nerf this already? Has been 3-4? years of unlimited gil making for the hardcore nerds, that own like 20 FC houses themselves and a ton of submarines, while having too much time on their hands.

This is encouraging people to buy up plots and leave them empty just to make submarines over months. :)

Make hard PvE content that gives gil and has monster itemdrops maybe. Stop catering to solo players, this is a MMORPG.

Yet you’re missing the point for those that actually work together to build the damn thing. To even get to that level of profit you’re spending close to 3-6 months barring RNG just to set yourself up for success. It’s only been 3 for my FC and we just finished fitting our sub with SSUC++(which, mind, takes over 500k Seals’ worth of materials). It’s a massive undertaking to do it by yourself.

Very bold thread creation... Very bold indeed...

That being said, I do agree that they need nerfing, and I think it should be compensated with more rarities that people sell on the market, as opposed to there just being raw Gil exchange with the extravagant.

Sure, it's several months worth of passive RNG to get to the point where the submarines are levelled sufficiently enough to get to that point. But, I don't think the amount of sustained effort required justifies what is yielded from the accessories on the long-term. It's essentially just trading several months of passive RNG, for essentially sustained Gil printing for as long as you like.

Now before someone brings up "But I need to get modified components which costs tens of millions of Gil to outfit the submarines." - Nah, the barrier for entry is much, much lower than modified components before you start printing Gil.

I know, that is why I said "months" in my post too. Still it is stupid that a single hardcore players buys up plots just for that reason, and I think once it is running, the rewards are too good for people who are constantly active. What do they need the gil for if they are already capped?

1.) People do not have to decorate their house if they do not want to. Decoration is 1 of 3 gameplay options tied to a house. It is not the reason for owning a house.

They can buy a house strictly for, decorating, gardening, or for workshopping. SE designed this system and locked two gameplay options behind it.

A better solution would be to ask SE to remove the workshop and gardens from physical plots so that every FC can have access to them regardless of owning a plot.
This would be a good faith way of freeing up houses from those who are only in it for the workshop (as is their right).

But newsflash, subs are just a bonus for a lot of us, not the main draw. You think someone that owns a ward is gonna give that up because salvage goes away?


Not to mention, most sublords that are not interested in decoration goes for the unwanted uncontested smalls. The housing crisis is not on the large fighting over FC designated smalls.

2.) There are still open FC plots right now on almost every world, so what is this solving? We're not out of FC houses even on Balmung but you want to discourage people so that there are more empty plots sitting unused?


3.) Then you suggest a mere nerf, a nerf is not going to stop people from printing free money. Oh no, now we're printing less free moneyyyyy.


This post comes off as immature and petty, your interest is not in building a solution that benefits everyone or even true MMO gameplay.

It would have been better if you were transparent:

"I don't like that people have a means to make easy money and are having fun playing on their own way. I also don't like that SE hasn't done anything to the "temporary changes to housing" and won't stop people more actively from creating multiple free companies. I want to take salvage gil away out of spite and I am hiding it under the guise of making the game better".

Submarines should honestly just be decoupled from Housing entirely and attached to GCs or something.

If we're all paying the same sub, there is no reason crossbreeding gardening and workshops are tied to owning a physical plot. It's inequitable game design.

The workhop should be available at the GC or somewhere for every FC.

I thought about that too, giving apartments a workshop or having it at the other door at Grand Companies, instead of having it tied to housing.

I think plots that are not decorated look worse over time than empty plots, which would be open to invite friends to. We can compare housing at next addon again, now it is a bit dead.

to 3: Yes I think making millions every week for waiting around is a bit much. What is there for gameplay? Do I get to be a pirate that sets foot into a submarine and steers it into the depth to collect and salvage some hidden treasures? No, it is 2 button clicks and a cutscene that gets autoskipped, and $$$$ voila you have gil. That sounds pretty boring to me and not very engaging. I want to play a game to earn gil, PvE orientated especially, as I mentioned, not clicking through some menus with numbers and a whole real time day delay tied to it.

Nice to admit that it is "easy money" at least xD.

But you literally keep saying "I, I, I" and yet have not experienced what goes into the salvage content yourself.

How self important are you to legitimately admit, just because it's seems boring and not engaging to you, it should be reduced for other players?

It does not matter if you think undecorated houses are worse than empty plots. Your subjective opinion is not the end all, be all of this game.


There are a lot of reasons for players to be jealous over salvage and the effort it takes to get there.

But this post isn't even an attempt at good feedback for SE to fix it.

You literally are just like "well i don't like it, so it should be gone".
