Plausible Changes And Reasonable Expectations

With the Recent Famitsu Article and Now Pax 2024, Yoshida has unloaded a lot onto us and has spoken about what he wants to do going forward. We also still have the Bench Mark, the 14 Hour broadcast and the Media Tour.



All of this is to simply say, remember that you need to have tempered and grounded expectation for changes going forward. Even with as much as I complain myself, we need to remember that making an MMO takes time and a lot of the changes we want will come in time, you can't just insert a new system after ripping one and just hope it works.

This is how any and all MMOs work and have worked since the inception of the genre, and if you want to be able to enjoy anything being said going forward, remembering that this is only the start of changes a lot of us have been asking for.

For a veteran player, it's impossible to ever feel again like the first time you stepped into the game, and the more you play, the more everything becomes mundane. I sometimes feel people keep expecting XIV to give them infinite higher highs, and that's just not sustainable or realistic.

I appreciate them re-investing into the multiplayer part of the game, as well as the hope for better rewards and the game just feeling more fulfilling to play. I don't need each new XIV expansion to be "THE BEST EVER" over and over. I'm very hopeful for Dawntrail.

I don't think job 'difficulty' will change, but I do hope, and genuinely think there will be a lot of surprising job changes across the board.

Same, If we got a new experience every single expansion that rivaled the first time you played the game they would be geniuses, I just want a good expansion to sink my teeth into.
