[Question] Playing mutiple characters in a single SQENIX account

I've read a FAQ sort of answering this:

This lead me to question in which if I bought another retail of FFXIV and link it to my current Square Enix account that has my main account linked, would that mean I only have to pay for 1 subscription fee for two products?

edit: After doing more research, it seems I still have to pay a separate subscription fee for the second account.

It's only one Square Enix account but you need one FFXIV service account for each copy of the game you want to run simultaneously, and each of those service accounts will have its own game registrations and subscription fees.
