Cannot log into a character bug.

Since last friday, February 9th, 2024, I have been enable to log into one of my character. All other characters are able to log in, except for this one: General Grievous @ Gilgamesh (Aether)

When trying to login, I get the error, "World Data could not be obtained. Please try logging in later. 1016"

When trying to send the character to another world, I get "A data error occurred and your data center request cannot be processed. Please contact the support desk [502].

I called the support hotline and followed all these steps that the support team has asked me to do. We tried anything from port forwarding, to reinstalling the game.
I have used 3 different computers to try to log in, and 3 different internet service providers.

The support team has concluded that my character is in limbo and this is something the dev team is the only group that can now help me.

I am desperate :(

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

If this is only affecting one character, then it may be something to do with your locally-saved settings. Go to 'My Documents' > 'My Games' > 'Final Fantasy XIV' and delete that folder. If there are any corrupted files that are associated only with that character, this will get rid of them.

If this does not solve the issue, try updating your graphics card drivers and doing a clean boot. To do a clean boot simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

Please be sure to install the game to the C: drive as this works best with Final Fantasy XIV. Lastly, please be sure that no background processes are interfering with FFXIV (i.e. Anti-virus software, OneDrive, Discord etc.)

If the issue persists, please try the following along with the previously provided suggestions:
- Please try running the game as an administrator.
- Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive. (If Steam version, make sure both the game and Steam are installed on same drive)
- Please be sure to disable or remove any overlays (Discord, Steam, NVIDIA etc.) as they may interfere with startup.
- Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
- Verify installation files (Steam)
- Reinstall game (If steam version, try uninstalling and reinstalling both the game and Steam), when reinstalling the game please make sure to also remove the local files as previously suggested. Please note, it is possible there may be some files hidden in the recycling bin as well.
