Greetings All,
I'm hoping you knowledegable folks can help with a problem. During my time with FFXIV, I've gotten over a hundred separate pieces of gear that I can't get rid of and my storage ability has gotten fairly close to maxing out. All of the gear, with varying degrees of quality, all fall into the following categories.
A) Unable to vendor them, restricted. B) Unable to trade in for company seals. C) Unable to put into an armouir. D) Unable to desynth them.
I don't plan to use any of them for glamours so they are just collecting dust. If possible, I'd like to have a use for them. Just discarding them feels, well, wasteful.
Is there anything productive I can do with them?

From how you describe the qualities of those items these may be rewards obtained from quest completion. The restrictions placed on those items mean they can be repurchased by a Calamity Salvager NPC in any of the three major cities.
- Ul'dah -> Milvaneth's Sacrarium (Mini Aetheryte Miner's Guild then East or Weaver' Guild then South West)
- Limsa Lominsa -> Upper Deck, Aftcastle (close to the city gate)
- Old Gridania -> Mih Khetto's Amphtheatre Mini Aetheryte then immediately East next to water
Check all the item categories if your items are listed in there. You can buy those for a small amount of gil, so no harm if you toss them when you can buy them again. -

I've definitely learned not to grab the Artifact gear for any jobs except the one that I'm using to complete MSQ unless I am 100% positive I will be using it for glamour (and even then only getting it when I'm ready to create the glamour plate). -

However, you can normally destroy these items by dragging them out of the inventory window. It's making it difficult to get rid of it for a reason though, so make sure you don't want it.
You can normally get gear again though. You can do a relic weapon grind again, there are ways to get your job gear again and although weekly tomestone gear takes time to get, you can get it again as well.
If it can be put in an Armoire, the rightmost icon at the top is lit up. Most items cannot be put in the Armoire, except seasonal event items, veteran rewards, certain achievement rewards and items from the mog station.Quote:

If the item says "Shop Selling Price: 1000" then it usually means you can buy it again at a Calamity Salvager or other vendor (such as a relic vendor, or blue mage vendor).
Any other gear is usually re-obtained another way (white gear from vendors or the market board, blue gear from a tomestone or other vendor or raid loot, green gear from dungeons or the market board, purple weapons by redoing the relic quests).
So if you can't sell them but want to get rid of them, it's usually safe to discard, just remember that it's making it difficult to get rid of them because it is often still a relevant item or tedious to obtain like a relic.
