Depending on the item, account-wide stuff could take awhile. I've gotten something that took a couple of days to show up for each character on the same account.
Might want to make sure what you got was actually account wide though...
I've noticed some items (i.e. mounts) will only be delivered on other characters when that character reaches a point where they can actually use the item itself (lvl 10 I think?).
If it's an account wide item you might want to go to a moogle mailbox and hit a little button at the top of the mailbox screen "request item delivery". After that it should send the item, might take around 30 minutes to an hour.
