Although I support the removal of teleport via freewill, I believe the anima system should remain in place while items/NPC's/Aetherytes are the catalysts for warping anywhere.
As it is now, all we have to do is go into the menu and select a camp, then accept teleportation.
This is unacceptable, even on a casual front. Just as Aether Gates do now in the City-States to warp around the city, this mechanism should replace freewill teleportation with having to run to a Aetheryte either in the City-State or outpost/camp to teleport to any other location realm-wide.
Simply removing teleportation is something I don't agree with. Locking teleportation to a specific class/job is further unacceptable.
the idea of using a function that is in the main menu and not directly part of the game does not make any sense. its practically a cheat.
Guess I can't use items anymore then. I have to get to them through the menus.
Chiming in here to say that I think teleporting is fine as-is.
I'd also be ok with requiring that you go to a certain hub in order to teleport, but I think that menu excuse is just plain silly. The only problem I see with requiring that you be at a hub in order to teleport is that you can just hit 'Return' and then teleport anywhere, so being able to teleport at will simply removes that unnecessary step.
So what you're saying is because the current teleport system makes ferries and airships useless, we should change it to a system that makes teleporting easier and with less cost?:confused::confused::confused:
Anima is a part of the lore.
If it stays as it is then whatever, but when mentioning item use there was an intention to have it as unique and untradable (rare/exclusive), such as seen from Grand Company phoenix downs. Having 1 free escape route without exhausting anima. Which also for the same reason, possibly reduce anima from 100 to a lower maximum.
Whoosh? I was, uh, just poking fun at the statement that suggested that just because something was only accessible through menus it was suddenly not part of the game, or even "a cheat".
Anima is lame plain and simple. why not just leave teleporting to the atherite at the camps. have it zap you into a worm hole or something.. even super mario had warp tubes.
I actually think it would be better if teleports were from one aetherye/node to another, and not just anywhere, anytime. Or maybe the cost would be higher when you weren't close to one of them.
Return should be available anywhere, of course.
