Multiple same gear and swapping during fights

Wouldn't it be interesting to have the possibility of having the same gear several times?

Basically many jobs, with different needs, share the equipment and therefore we often find ourselves having to re-melt the entire set.

Another case would be that the various contents (perhaps of the same tier) need different needs to be best addressed and re-melding a set for the various raids is not exactly the best.

Another also is perhaps based on the composition of the party.

In essence, having the possibility of having the bis always at hand (after healthy farming).

In pve maybe there are phases (almost downtime) where having more hp/defense is better than having more dps.
This game actually has few mechanics that making could swapping profitable, in other games there are phases where the essential thing is to stay alive/make people stay alive and other phases where you have to push the dps to the maximum.

In pvp, swapping gear would allow you to face opponents based on the needs of the moment.

Gear hasn't mattered in PvP for the entire expansion.

I'm a big fan of having a different BiS for different situations (team composition, boss, ...) but I doubt it will ever change.

I'm not against the idea see no point while ilv > crit > everything 99% of the time.

Gear swapping was an important part of FFXI.
But there you had gears that actually mattered and affected certain parts of your kit.
Ex: You could stack healing potency gear before using curing waltz on DNC.
Or why not use gear that reduce TP cost. Or increase the debuff cap ? Get the chance to attack twice and/or save TP before a weaponskill ? As long as it was a separate slot, why not both ?

You had gears that altered the way some abilities worked almost completely, or added a whole new aspect to them
The closest XIV got like that is the crystalline tools series ; and comes lv.100 there are certainly going to be useless because ilv & stats are what matters here.
