Yey. I'm excited for Dawntrail

After watching the pll I was happy to see 3 things I wanted more than anything confirmed

- artist as a job (now I can be my own job in ffxiv! Starving artist garb not included!)
- beastmaster
- cosmic exploration.

I do hope that this expansion will improve on the failings and shortcomings of endwalker which imo lost all its development toward 16/graphics/dawntrail prep.
The cities look gorgeous
The jobs look pretty
The maps look fun!
The raid theme is exciting
Now it is time to share you're excitement, what you hope for within d/t. And what you're nervous about and why

i am HYPED for pictomancer, <3 FF6 <3 Relm (tho wish they didn't translate out her foul language for western releases) i can't wait, tho my main will prob be Viper or still reaper just cuz i prefer melee, i will be lvling picto as well quickly, interested in seeing party/raid wide cds it will bring as well. I also love the art style of the abilities it felt more along with how someone as young as Relm would paint.

but its cosmic exploration and beastmaster that will be a hit or miss for me

beastmaster will just be blu skined as bst and thats fine as its all se knows how to do but its the side content that will make or break it. atm blu's biggest flaw is why am i doing old content that i can easily unsync with my main job? its side content is also very limited and well past its prime or is aweful as who wants to be forced to do basically all old dungeons in only blu parties? its needs new fresh fun content to do that can be done solo or with others that's enjoyable.
sorry long rant back to bst the only thing that will stop it for me from being throw away content is fun side content like a bst arena where you can duel npc's and players for fun in a pokemon style fight. if all i can do is collect some beasts and then do old dungeons/trails and raids i will be meh'd to death.

my other big one is what big baddies can we catch as bst? we know it wont be able to enter eureka which i think would be the best option for some cool baddies to catch but we also know unlike blu we can't get any trial monsters cause they are all primals and do we want to really make the smn players made by being a beastmaster and running around with ifrit shiva titan? ravana? omega? ruby weapon? the answer is obviously not but what big cool monsters will we be collecting? it kinda just leaves dungeons left. there is a lot of well this most likely wont happen so what will to make it fun?

i will say i will play and lvl bst no matter what but i hope they find a good ground for replayability they i dont see with blu.

on to my second big one even though i have ranted up quite a storm.

cosmic explorations my biggest fear is it ends up close to ishgard restoration and i didnt touch it as it had zero appeal to me while i know many players will like it, it wont be for me i love the aspect of i dont have to actually do any crafting or real gathering so i personally hope its just a bigger more flushed out or even different but on the same idea level but with other players of island sanctuary on the terms of i dont have to lvl anythings besides maybe my planeteer volunteer rank and get mats in the maps and crafter the items needed for doing more and seeing more.


i will say on a good note solution 9 is the best looking map so far in game its super colorful and its not just some forest desert ruins temple or flying airship (at least atm).

I'll remain cautiously optimistic about DT, and I too really hope that it exceeds the low bar set by EW. The graphics update is one of the things that I will look forward to the most.

I really love the idea of Pictomancer, I get to play as an artist as I am IRL lol. New field operations? Cosmic exploration? I hope they're good, really looks like it's going to be packed expansion this time.

It's more of the same, I'm going to enjoy it :D

I wonder if the criterieon dungeon formula will finally change & get a decent overhaul?
I left because I want hard 4 man content that is rewarding, in the style of heroic and mythic dungeons that wow has- these dungeons offer gear and other cosmetics
And while I like difficult content, I hate that the one with better rewards are 8 man savage/ultimate raids so it's either 8 man content or bust
With all of that being said, I haven't looked far into any details concerning DT so maybe this has been addressed

I'm worried about Beast Master being a "copy paste" of Blue Mage, and also a bit worried about them improperly pacing the introduction to our new "cyberpunk" city. I just hope it doesn't feel really abrupt like we go from a tribal village right into some super sci-fi city without a proper build up

Overall though I'm really excited for Viper, Cosmic Exploration sounds cool and I hope they learned from IS. But I'm most excited for Eden Ultimate, it was my favorite tier.
