I don't know if this is a topic that has been mentioned before but one thing that I have been wanting to see added to the game for a little bit now is the ability to glam a piece of gear with multiple pieces of gear. This way even though different jobs are using the same piece of gear, those same pieces have different glams depending on what job I am playing allowing them to look different.
I don't know how feasible it is but definitely something I think about a lot.
If I understand what you're saying, do you mean that, as an example, if you were sharing the same piece of Fending gear between all four tank jobs, then you want it to be so that you can glam that same piece of base gear differently between each of those jobs so that when you switch, the same piece doesn't have the same glam? If that's so, I'm pretty sure that's why they created the glam dresser and the glam plates. I'm sure they considered doing what you suggested, but it would require much more coding and programming to account for the sheer amount of data going in to one piece of gear having more than one glam on it. I could see how people would be using it like crazy and they'd have half a dozen glams on each piece of gear, that'd be a database nightmare XD. But the dressers and the plates are supposed to be a middle ground. Correct me if i misassumed.
As Duraeus explains, you can archieve this effect you wish for by linking different glamour plates per job
Using fending as an example, if you save on plates 1 to 4 your tank glamors and link them to each tank loadout, it will change the glam when you switch to a different tank even if you are using the same gear
The limitation then lies in the ammount of glamour plates we have, as we dont even have enough for all DoW/DoM + DoH/DoL
To tie back into your post, I believe the practical implementation would be more glamour plates, and I agree with the sentiment
Interesting. I don't think i had ever given it the thought that I could have a glam plate or plates for each job! Looks like it's time for a glam plate overhaul lol
