Star Bird Minion

Two years...two years! I have been after this minion since the dungeon was released two years ago. I have only seen the minion drop maybe three times, four at the most. For the love of everything increase the drop rate of this minion!

I feel your frustration...because it is your reason to post here after several years of playing.

I have bad news for you though. There is a very small chance that they will increase it. I wish you luck though.

A way to improve your chance of winning the roll on the minion when it does drop, is to run the dungeon with your Trust/Duty Support, as the avatars don't roll :)
You can grind the dungeon, with the run being around 35~40 minutes tops (a slow run), with your Trust/Duty Support team, as many times as it takes to get your minion with the added perk of getting all the other chest drops (stuff to turn in to your GC for seals, use for glamor or upgrades, de-synth, or just vender, plus all the materia that drops and that you generate on your own gear)

• HINT: If your Trust team is not leveled up enough, then use the Duty Support menu as Duty Support avatars are auto-leveled to the dungeon level

A couple weeks after EW launch, I had my Star Bird by the above method after 11 runs over a period of a couple days, plus a lot of accessories gear for my jobs to use before the higher IL gear was released, and the other drops to use or sell/turn-in.

If You got gils, put up a party finder. Pay People to grind with you, and be sure to use "loot master" So you can get the bird after it drops

It can take quite a while before it drops. Trusts/Duty support as suggested above works. It takes longer to clear than with a group but you don't have to wait in PF.

I did it on 3 chars: one I got it with Duty support after 5-6 tries. The third one, I am doing it bi-weekly since a year with groups and saw it drop only once. It's really random, same thing with the Tiny troll, Caduceus, Brina (took me 200+ runs on my main while I got it first try on a joke character).

You can mostly afk trough the trust dungeons as dps. Pull something, go afk and have the squad kill it. You only need to help with the bosses. A run takes about 40 min this way and takes almost no effort.

Been trying to help my friend get this, but... man is it rare.
I remember how smart I felt - and instantly dumb right after - when I thought I figured something: aha! min ilvl raises the chances for ponies and such, why not this bird??
Does that even work, like, in current xpack? No idea, and no bird after months of consistently inconsistent farming in small-to-medium bursts. Those dungeon runs do stack up...

Then there is my bestie and FC co-leader. We always do msq together when new xpack hits, it's run right.

Duty Support/Trust really is the best way to go. If it drops, it is yours - no arguments. The time savings per run if you do it with a normal party isn't to your benefit if you lose the roll when it does drop.

well, there will be another moogle event at some point. im sure that minion will also find its way there

For real dude, just run it with Trusts. Go on SMN if you have it leveled, take Thancred, Urianger, and Estinien. When Thancred tries to do one pull, just run ahead and grab the next pack then Sprint back to him like your life depends on it. He'll pick them up, and you nuke them with Bahamut/Phoenix while Urianger spams "TOGETHER WE WILL OVERCOME THIS" between dumping cards on you and spamming benefic on Thancred because Trusts are awful. Estinien is only good because he'll LB on the boss so you don't have to.

Doing this and actually focusing on it led me to get 25ish minute runs. Which is horrible. But for trusts it's okay. I saw the stupid bird after 23 runs, and since it was with Trusts I didn't have to fight anyone for it.
