Your opinion on the NPC roleplaying duties

By those I mean the instances where you're playing as the Scions and the like.

While I appreciate them in concept and quite enjoy some of them (the one from Hildibrand comes to mind, and if you count it as one, the one from In From the Cold), I find they're mostly either pretty dull in execution, or overstay their welcome.

I was replaying through the MSQ with an alt and I got curious on you guys' standing on them as of now, with DT on the horizon. Do you like them, love them, hate them? Couldn't give a Qiqirn's arse?

I don't care for them that much. Some of them are enjoyable like you mentioned, but I'd prefer if SE kept these scenarios to a minimum.

a lot of them last way too long (which is true of most solo instances actually) because of how spongy enemies are in them imo. I can appreciate a few of them like the Thancred stealth section in EW because it at least tried to do something different other than "here's a guy go hit him with a 1 button rotation for 7-10 minutes until something happens" but stuff like the Alphi instance in EW? bored to tears.

I pref to play my own character

Some of them were enjoyable to me. Some of them also show that we can have more skills for various jobs condensed to 1 button, thus being able to add even more skills to each job making more complex game play(potentially).

I like them, but I wish they either gave more of NPC's job kit, or shortened the fights a bit.

The Thancred one in SHB comes to mind, as we are stuck pressing a one button 123 combo for way to long.

They do nothing but serve to convince me the scions should be abandoned and left to wallow in their incompetence. They are nothing without the player character, and their hopeless performance in trust dungeons only emphasises this. If we can hire tataru and maybe aenor, is there anything else we would really miss?

As far as gameplay is concerned, what gameplay? They’re a watered down version of either a job I play or one that I have no interest in. Both options are not very appealing. Metal gear thancred and in from the cold (release version) were probably the best attempts in both departure from normal gameplay and conveying story respectively.

Yeah that one is... I mean I get the whole point is he's stalling for time, but it could have been cut down by like 40% and it'd still have gotten the point across.

They aren't perfect, but they are fun and add a different perspective (or allow us to participate in a story happening away from our character)

I don't like them at all. The 'Thancred Vs Not-Zenos Ran'jit fight was particularly tiresome.
