Criterion--> Duty Finder ---- Criterion Savage --> Raid Finder

I am wondering why Criterion can't be put under duty finder. They can do it exactly like the 8-man raid. The only difference here is 8-man vs 4-man. Normal Criterion's mechanics would have more visual indicators while Criterion Savage would have different and more difficult mechanics. The difficulty and rewards can be adjusted accordingly. Putting it under DF will very likely increase the clear rate whereby more people get to experience it. In the end, Roulette: Criterion can even be implemented if they want.

As for Variant, it can remain in the separate UI.

My guess was they wanted to put it in a UI that was out of the way so that anybody not looking for it wouldn't find it, because it was experimental content. They also wanted the journal information tied to it, but they could have done that without making it also the way you queue like how we have a "Collection" menu for journals from other content such as alliance raids and Bozja.

These dungeons are all entry level Savage difficulty even in their easiest moments and tend to have a few mechanics that edge current Ultimate difficulty. You are comparing them to "Normal" difficulty raids here and that's just super disconnected from reality. They should not add them to Duty Finder for the same reason the Duty Finder queue system for Extremes/Savage is basically never used in most regions. I'll take it into account that you might be mixing up the names here because it's such a common mistake. "Variant" is the normal mode difficulty, Criterion is the hard difficulty and Criterion (Savage) is the hard difficulty without any rez and on a 24m timer. They could certainly add the Variant mode to the Duty Finder, but I would argue it almost already is because you can enable party matching via the Variant dropdown in the menu. However, the actual Criterion dungeons are too difficult for Duty Finder matching. In their current state barring any changes made going forward in 7.0 they need to be limited the same way Extreme trials, Savage and Ultimate raids are limited so people know what they are getting into and can lock grouping to Duty Complete.

If people don't like it they can choose not to queue. Doing Coil was also dead until it wasn't because enough new players came in and weren't indoctrinated fast enough to never use DF. lol

Criterion should still probably go in the raid finder, it's balanced at around a low savage level so they should treat it like one.

Pretty sure it's the same reason they can't with dr per example. Special abilities.
The only fight I can think of where you get them in any duty finder at all is in the rathalos fight. And those ones you can't customize.
But yeah it would be nice to be able to add them in duty finder. Or make a new roulette for all variants or something like that.

I don't hate the current UI for it but I find it weird that the Criterion Normal coins are tracked in that specific UI space yet the Criterion Savage Books are just regular items.
