Samurai Deleted Action(s), Comeback of Ageha in 7.x or beyond?

Hi Creative business unit III or Yoshi-P,

I'm writing this thread because of reminiscence/nostalgia of 4.x Samurai deleted action(s) such as Ageha. I miss it and I want it back if possible(and I'm not too sure why it was removed in the first place back in 5.x/Shadowbringer, could it be button bloating?). Anyways it had a cool looking animation and the kenki generation of +10 and +250 potency was always super useful, Obviously now samurai kenki gauge management has becomes less strict meaning, you will always have enough kenki in no matter what situation you are in but yeah. Bring back Ageha please? Haha

Removal of Kaiten, doesn't bother me that much. Yes it's a great boost in damage yes, it feels good to hit the button but Ageha can also be re-worked so that it doesn't require the target to be below 20% HP to use it. But honestly, Kaiten advantage heavily on gear. People who have better ilvl gear or sub-stats benefit from kaiten the most, not saying Kaiten doesn't help everyone but some people get more than others. Therefore I can understand why JP players want it back as well as EN especially those who likes to min-max everything and aiming for orange/gold or pink parse. To me, I don't really miss it. Not that I didn't always use it in the past. Whether SE adds it back or not, it's all the same to me. But I am rooting for every samurai players that are chasing Kaiten back. I only voiced my honest opinions in that post that you mentioned and in this post. Whether you agree with me or not, is a different story. I'm just here to play the game and enjoy my time and to be honest Kaiten makes it slightly less enjoyable for me.

Now if you weren't too self-absorbed, you'd go and see (in that compiled thread) that people that don't do savage or even raid making threads/posts about wanting Kaiten back. I have yet to see anyone complain about losing a deathblow, which every job had removed at the start of ShB, and you just "want it back" with no reasons provided other than "it looked cool", which is also a reason we all want Kaiten back. You shooting down something because "me speshul" will backfire, and here it is.

"I don't use Kaiten so I don't care". I started playing the game just before 5.2, I didn't even know this terrible skill called "Ahega" existed till now, let alone use it, so I should also just dismiss it out of hand, and I have no qualms whatsoever doing that. It was a terrible skill with 0 use in any situation. When I mentioned this thread to a few of my friends, the response was "Oh that Ninja-adjacent shit? I am glad it's gone", and those are people that have played the game since Heavensward, and guess what, I will agree with that assessment. The animation was just a slightly longer Shinten, the functionality was absolutely god-awful that I am glad it's gone so I didn't have to see that in my hotbar when I started playing.

Oh wow a 60 second cooldown that can be used once in the entire fight? how useless is that, and then it only got 250 potency xD make it 2500 and 100% crit and fill your kenki bar 100%.

It looks like inspired by Execute from WoW, but, Execute had no cooldown and cost rage instead of generating rage.
Something similar would be like Shinten, but the damage based on the amount of Kenki you have and no cooldown

Example:
Ageha
Ability , Kenki Cost: 25
Recast: 1 s
Consumes all your Kenki to delivers an attack with a potency of 350-1100 based on the amount of Kenki you have.

Kaiten is one of the worst animations this job has ever had lol. It's like poser samurai anime flair to the maximum. So glad it was removed and ikishoten should be next, then guren.

Only then will samurai stop being an anime fantasy job and reflect the fantasy of actual samurai values.

It's fine to like kaiten for its animation, but not everyone is in the same boat and it's a really good thing that it was removed.

Ageha as a kenki dump on a 60 second cooldown would be much cooler. Varying potency with amount of kenki pooled is also a great idea. The one problem this job has currently is too much kenki and too much shinten spam.

This is honestly not a bad idea, but it would need a lot of balancing. Currently all Kenki skills have a 10 potency/kenki ratio (except Senei), and making this reworked skill's cost and recast timer the same as Shinten would just make this the new Shinten. So basically rebalancing for that would make this a decent, alternate Kenki spender skill. And yeah change the animation as well because we don't need a "slightly longer Shinten" animation lol

It's a game, the swordplay on all the sword-based jobs is atrocious when compared to reality. But who actually cares about that? Style > realism as far as I'm concerned and Kaitens flourish was cool. If you're gonna complain at animations, Shinten being a thrust on a sword specialized in cuts is dumb, putting the weapon back in the scabbard for Iaijutsu is dumb, the overswing in most sword animations are dumb. But again, who cares? We want it to look cool and feel cool, not realistic.

Iaijutsu literally doesn't work if it is unsheathed already? It's a very real and grounded technique that makes absolute sense. If you think it's dumb, you're just exposing yourself as unaware.

Japanese swords are very good for thrusting too and it is part of the design? What are you even on about lol?

I want it to be cool and feel cool. Not to "look cool". I want it to actually be cool. Kaiten was cringe, ikishoten is cringe. Flourish animations are for western swordplay. Leave that stuff on red mage and paladin. It simply doesn't belong in the samurai job fantasy.
