I wish to learn crafting ropes from scrap (+ some questions about master recipes)

Hello, folks.

It's been a while i didn't craft and as i'm not a complete beginner, i kinda scrapped crafting since Skyrise's ladder, this thing made me realise there's a complete gap between leveling up crafting and practicing crafting (especially about master recipes, because i don't feel like the game gives you a good explanation about how to be prepared to this "endgame content", unlike fighting jobs imho).

So, here i am. I wish to have a better understanding about crafting and endgame crafting. And by understanding, i mean to get the idea/logic behind it and being able to do it by myself the next expansion coming

Also, i don't want to be blunt but i don't want to hear about macros. Because it's the opposite of what i'm looking for ; it's not about having the easy answer to crafting but the ability to understand what i'm doing with my abilities and my stats.
I know there's a lot of people is having every faith in macros but that's not how i see crafting (Aside the need to automatize the things but at this point, people understands how to do it).

Sounds like you're one of the target audience of my "ancient" crafting guide (the original version goes way back to 2014/2015)...

I re-vamped my guide back in 2021 when Endwalker was released, and I had an update in 2022 September (Please see: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...vamped-in-2021)

I think I'll just carry the whole guide over to the official site here, I guess. I'll copy the whole thing over, and remake all the pictures. It may benefit learning crafters like you in the future.

Thank you so much, Caimie ! You totally nailed it ! (no pun intended). Seriously, it's very helpful. I'll have a lot of work to get used to this during my craft but at least it unveils a lot of points i could miss by the past

However, it's probable i missed it in your guide but does there's a section in your guide about how to manage stats for master recipes ? I've read about the Gold rule and the melding stuff but what's the idea about endgame gear ? Melding stuff to have the prerequisite stats (to be able to craft master recipes) and then focus on CP or the stuff is already putting limits across melding ? I'm still confused about this.
