[QUESTION] On what depends tanks (paladin) OWN healing efficency?

Do I priorotize STR>Crit>Dtr>Tenacity if I want heal better MYSELF? As I understand direct hit doesn't scale "non-attack" (healing) potencies. I trust tank weapon damage (physical) doesn't effect it, does it? Anything else that does?

P.S. Don't tell that I shouldn't focus healing. I want to shine in "crysis" moments exactly.

It's kinda hard to just focus on increasing just healing, increasing your item level would increase it regardless. But yes if you want more healing then avoid DH and TEN because DH doesn't affect heals and TEN just sucks in general. I know you said not to tell you not to focus on healing but ... you really don't need to focus on healing. Gearing in this game is not so complex that it will make much if any difference.

First of all let's take a look at what healing types you have available.

1.) Attack spells triggering heals (Holy Spirit, Holy Circle, Confiteor, Blade of Faith/Truth/Valor)
2.) Holy Sheltron / Intervention granting "Knight's Benediction"
3.) Divine Veil
4.) Clemency

STR / weapon damage will always provide the highest value, so even if you theoretically had no sub stats that boost healing, more STR trumps. For large bursts of healing, you realistically are looking at maximizing Critical Hit followed by Determination. Tenacity isn't favourable because it will only boost your own HP recovery from what I can recall and is generally a stat you don't actively seek out. Yes, I am aware that you wrote "myself", however even for that purpose Determination provides more % per stat tier than Tenacity.

Lastly, sorry to burst your bubble but even if you want to "shine in crisis moments" you will still prefer to go Crit >> DH => Det > Tenacity as the healing loss from having Direct Hit materia in your gear instead of Determination is going to be so miniscule that it realistically doesn't matter while using Direct Hit would provide a fairly hefty boost in damage if you land Critical Direct Hits, especially in the Blade of Valor combo.

You want to shine being a saviour? Learn how and when to save people using Intervention, then Cover, then Clemency without getting yourself killed. You by yourself are tanky enough as you are.

As a tank in general, you're just stuck with Crit/Direct Hit. Tenacity scales awfully so it just isn't worth it in any way, and Determination is fine but you can get that on your gear naturally unlike Direct hit, so you're really left with those two options.

You have plenty of healing on your kit as is, if you want more healing the only real way to go about it is to get higher Ilvl. Want to shine in crisis moments? Just know when to heal and be able to react properly to a snafu, it's all you can really do at this point. It's the same with WAR needing to know when to Nascent Flash someone for mitigating the initial damage and also giving them heals, or Shake it Off to help party members. No amount of stats beyond Ilvl will do anything for you.

By "myself" I meant healing coming from me - to myself and others.

I get it you want direct hit for damage instead determination (determination which even seems to give a bit more damage and CONSTANTLY) because it can get buffed by 20% by bard and dancer, is that right? So I probably stick with tenacity for my goals.

Problem is if you have a 0% chance with 0 melds, you aren't going to get much of a buff at all. And it takes essentially gearing everything that isn't crit into DH to get somewhere to a decent rate for the buffs to matter.

Again, Tenacity barely improves much of the healing let alone your defense and damage, you really are just better off doing Crit/DH by all accounts. If that's what you wanna do though then I guess that's what you wanna do. Just saying though, Tenacity is a pain stat for a reason. The poor scaling hampers it from really being cool.

Again, if you want to improve healing and forsake Direct hit, you go Critical Hit then Determination. Tenacity provides LESS healing for one and it is for healing RECEIVED, not for healing DONE. It will only affect you, not your teammates.

Crit >>> Det >>> Tenacity when it comes to being useful with healing.
