Increase the length of all versions of the Night's Wolf spear

The Night's Wolf DRG spear (link), as well as its augmented and exquisite versions, is too short.

While it has a cool design and a nice new glow in its final version, the way it looks in game is simply too weird due to this shortness.

Therefore, I would like to ask the developers to increase the length of all versions of the Night's Wolf. Making the shaft part of the weapon (the part where we hold it) longer would improve it greatly.

Additionally, the drape that hangs on the side needs to be fixed as well because it clips into the face of the character wielding it when walking at normal speed with the weapon unsheathed while also awkwardly covering the face.

The sentiment that the weapon is too short and looks strange has also been shared in the JP DRG thread found in the JP DPS jobs subforum but sadly SE hasn't made any changes on the weapon.

Please, comment and support on this thread if you agree so that the developers fix the weapon!

I also find this spear way too short compared to many other models. I wonder if it's not the shortest of all spears actually? Besides my personal preference for longer spears, I feel like this one could be a bit longer and perhaps it'd eventually fix a bit the piece of fabric covering the face while walking with the weapon unsheathed. It's fine to have different lengths for spears so that there is variety, but this one is a tiny bit awkward due to its shortness, imo. Although it looks like cute little toothpicks on Lalafels..

It's still a very nice design and the person who created it for the contest did very well, there is no doubt about that. Not sure if measurements were required for the contest (I mean, if the person intended it to look a bit smaller and gave those measurements, or if that's how the product ended up being modelized by the team). In any case, it could use a little bit of length to look even better than it already does.

Let me remind you that all of the current tomestone weapons were all fan-made, it was the creators choice to make a shorter spear, and the developers choice to pick it. If you don't like it, then don't use it, it's not meant for everyone. There is nothing they CAN "fix" if this is how it was intended to be designed.

I think it's nice to have options for players who prefer a spear with a shorter aesthetic. There are plenty of longer spears for the folks who are into that.

I agree. I looked at it and noped out at the length. Size matters.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that as a fanmade weapon, the design should be respected.

However, the length of the weapon does not appear to have been specified by its creator, as they all had to use templates that were not always fully filled or did not really convey the length of the spear unless the designer specifically added instructions for that.

There's not really many long spears in the game. Most spears are either medium or short but the Night's Wolf is just too short, and this causes weird issues with it, including the way the cloth was implemented and its clipping of the face.

For example, the recent Smaragdine Partisan (Emerald Weapon EX crafted) would look better too if it was longer because the glow is focused on the tip and the design of the weapon is quite simple. Instead, it's medium-to-short sized, making it less desirable in my opinion.

It's also an issue with the Elemental Lance from Eureka. The model is so short that on the female /cpose it doesn't touch the ground and looks kinda silly.

Since animations are preset, any weapon that deviates too much from the norm runs the risk of something like this happening. It's possible they think awkward animations for a subset of use cases are worth the tradeoff of having more experimental weapon designs.

You can go look at the submitted graphic using 100% of the provided length, and even a bit more.
You can also go compare the DNC weapons to their submitted graphic and see how they shrunk the blades by like 50%.
Square just didn't do the concept art justice.

I'm trying so hard not to make too many immature comments about spear sizes, but I'm losing my grip here.
