Game not responding after patch

I click on Play, game loads... stops responding.

I don't use Steam, if it helps.

Edit: I managed to load after the 4th attempt but it's VERY slow, it also took a good minute for the character screen to load.

I had the same problem as well. I noticed on Task Manager the Windows Defender anti-malware service was active while FF14 was stalling.

I'm to unable to connect properly, after character selection, screen will lag and game will end task.:confused a few times it happens, I tried reloading the game data and it works, but bare for a couple of hours because it will repatch again as a whole.

I had this problem after updating too but changing back to default settings in the launcher is what fixed it for me.
