Data Center and PF
Hello everyone,
As of late many players within the Primal data center have stopped making PF's all together in Primal and simply move over to Aether. This has caused an issue where PF on primal and Crystal (for content) is dead, and the community as a whole has moved over to Aether for party finder.
Now inheritently the ability to travel to different Data Centers is great, and I don't blame SE for this problem. I feel like it is something that wasn't predictable, but at the same time it totally makes sense as to why it happened. Aether has always been the "most" raid centered DC, therefore it stands to reason players would move over to Aether to open their PF's.
I've heard the argument "well the players are at fault" well that's a irrelevant statement because naturally players are going to go wherever they can go to find content, it is up to the developers to fine tune and adapt to situations as the need arises.
With all that being said, Does SE have any plans to address the party finder situation in NA? I can't say anything in regards to Asia or Eu as I do not play those servers.
Personally I say get rid of the DC and just have Regions data centers.
NA
Asia
EU
Oceanic
That way if you are on the NA DC
You can just move over to any server you like at any time. I understand this is not as simple as simply flipping a switch, however in the long run a situation like this is ultimately the most healthy option for the game.
Once this is done all PFs would be unified.
As for people who fear seeing RP in their PF, well you can just filter those out so a concern like that is irrelevant

the solution will most likely be the future cloud servers where they will eventually put na servers all in the same pool when they wont have to worry about instances being full.

Agreed this is what I believed would happen as well, I just wish SE would say something regarding the PF issue. Even something as simple as "we are going to address this at a future point" would suffice for me. I am aware however, that , that is a bit unrealistic. :(

Unpopular opinion, but I think quite a few areas of the game plummeted when they opened up cross-world travel. It's handy if you have friends spread around and don't want to transfer, but it seems to be causing problems in just about every other aspect. I don't really know how they could address it without either a) removing it entirely or b) merging everything as you suggest, but as little as I know about that sort of thing, previous information makes it seem pretty much impossible. I also have a vague suspicion NA raiders and RPers wouldn't be jazzed about sharing a PF if current complaints are anything to go by...
(And it's "inherently", btw.)

I hate Aether so much its unreal

This problem happens in JP with everyone going to Mana and EU going to Light.
Yoshi-P only seems aware of it affecting JP, but has a solution in mind for it so hopefully it can be extended to the other regions as well.

Even if the end goal is to have regional mass DCs, the interim solution needs to be to restrict party leader functions to people who are on their home DC, so that you can switch DCs to play with one of your friends but not just so that you can switch DCs and end up with a full 8/8 party of strangers who are all from your home DC anyway.

If they had the resources and technology, I rather wish we had just one giant mega server for each region. Otherwise the better solution is to implement cross-DC party finder.
