Please add more large scale 1 v 1 Team Battles

3-way front lines leave no room for variety, it's all we have for battles involving a lot of players. A large scale 1 v 1 Team battle should bring that variety to the roulette.

Could have the following modes:

• Capture the flag (8-12 on each team)
• Bases that can be taken and/or destroyed (48 players)
• Adding Rival Wings to the queue
• The current 3-way maps slightly redesigned for a 2-way battle

Would you like to see more large scale 1 v 1 Team Battles? If so, what modes could they add you'd like to try?

They copied overwatch, which replaced the feast. So why not?

3way wouldn't be nearly as bad if it was with less people and with smaller damage reduction (or even none to encourage splitting up).

Still, would prefer 2 team modes over stuff like Frontlines.

Yes! I want this! I feel like almost every issue (outside of actual job balance, that's CC's fault) in Frontlines stems from the player count and the RNG objectives. I'd love to see two-team modes and maps with more focused objectives that encourage actual team play and discourage blobbing, zerging, and idling.

Yeah, there's so much you can do with 1v1 large scale battles which would allow you to feel like you're more in control and less like the 1v1v1 situations where it just seems like it's out of your hands entirely. For example in a 1v1v1 you and your team may know exactly what you need to do to win - to concentrate on fighting the team with the largest amount of points but it may not matter if the third team is just zerging yours randomly thus paving the path to victory for the team already ahead. It just feels so... Lacking in accomplishment I want to say? Like win or lose, it doesn't feel earned but rather the result of luck based on what the third team was doing unless you enter with a premade which shouldn't be allowed in the roulette system.

Rival Wings is really cool and they should add more maps for that mode. Which they are doing in 7.x apparently so that's pretty epic

I don't have an issue with Frontline's 3 team BTB stuff, but I kinda thought it would be funny if we got a version for a more evolving war mode. I thought ESO's Alliance Wars was a fun mode, and it could be funny if it was in XIV but that seems too crazy for them to try and add.

A smaller-scale battle like CTF would probably need to enforce some job restrictions (similar to what CC has now) to prevent strats that would most definitely ruin the game mode. Like running 8-12 PLDs and being totally unbeatable.

Otherwise, I'm not opposed to Square Enix trying new ideas, especially with PvP. Though personally, after years of playing WoW battlegrounds, I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that a 1v1 mode would be any better than 1v1v1; the former comes with its own issues, like players giving up after the first engagement, or getting team diffed so hard you spend the entire game getting camped at the graveyard with zero chance to recover. Still though, I'd be curious to see how some of WoW's battlegrounds translate to FFXIV.
