friendships :)

Hiya again!
Have you ever thought of who your character is friends with? What friendships have they formed over time?
Or maybe you could talk about the friendships you have formed in game with your experiences, if you don't mind. Being that this is a social game, there are bound to be friendly interactions and later to be friendships even!

To start a small few facts:
Rhel'a has made many friends. He is close with many Vath and Vanu Vanu with some positive interactions with the moogles. He also has his friendships with adventurers (mostly ocs of mine). Though, unsure how close he is with the scions! He does have some association with them, however.

Maybe a copout answer since it's MSQ and not personal head canon, but I really feel the bond my character has forged with Alphinaud and Alisaie over the years. We've been through so much together, and we've had some deep talks where they've opened up a lot (despite the WoL not technically speaking, lol). The other scions are more like "trusted allies" whereas the twins feel like my true friends.

Endwalker spoilers:

Is it weird I really, really wish to see Meteion again? I know it would serve no purpose and cheapen the story, but seeing the little starbird fly by at the end of the story gave me hope she's out there somewhere. Also, I would love to be able to go back to Elpis and hang out with Venat, Hythlodaeus, and Emet-Selch some more. Maybe in an alternate life or timeline where thing's aren't, you know... :(

My WoL only has one friend; my friend, my enemy.

My main WoL would have likely been on good terms with Gaius, Jullus, Emet-Selch, etc. The unifying characteristic is that these characters are largely not two-faced or hypocritical the way the Scions are. I do not consider the latter friendly. G'raha Tia is obsessive and just makes me uncomfortable whenever he comes on screen while the others have no distinguishable personality anymore including Estinien. I would have liked to have enjoyed Zero, but her being brainwashed by the Scions has made her thoroughly detestable as well.

Now all that's left to look forward to is her eventual transformation into a Paladin and Sharlayan's regime change enforcement unit being sent off to the New World with Krile and Erenville in tow, neither of which have any unique qualities either...while the other characters I had liked have been entirely done away with or forced into irrelevancy. My only hope of seeing Gaius again is if they dress him up in the Easter chicken suit again because I refuse to play through the hilariously forceful Tataru quest they wrote for him and Sorrow of Werlyt.

If I'm ever to have "friends" in this game they would have to go significant lengths to truly diversify the cast in both appearance and ideology - but with a playerbase so resistant to change like that unless given official sanction which I doubt will ever come at this point there doesn't seem to be much hope for that.

You would have been better off as an agent for the bad guys instead of a good guy like what the WoL currently is.

Our WoL tends to make fast friends, but I think mine is personally closest with:

The twins and their family, given you're pretty much adopted. Though still chuckle that Mommy asked me to help dress her in sexy clothes while the husband was at work...
Y'shtola. Love her character and she may find it odd I have a painting of her in my house. Given my WOL goes to the First regularly to visit Kai-Shirr and the dancers, I like to think he helps her research a way for her to return. The existence of Runar ruined any love interest.
Hien. Pretty sure Yugiri thought we were on a date during an EW role quest. She looked quite skeptical. Possible love interest.
Lyse. Since my WoL took up Monk Training I'd like to think they keep each other's skills sharp and spar like in the StB trailer. Possible love interest.
Kan E-Senna, just as Gridania is my hometown and I'm a very powerful White Mage. I'd imagine I'm part of her inner circle to keep the peace.

I like Emet, Zenos and Estinien. They would make for some interesting drinking buddies.

What is your favorite line from the characters you listed liking? Seems you enjoy gritty characters so it is nice you have options ^^
I don't think I've seen Gaius in the chicken suit before, does that happen anywhere? What is the context behind it?

Oh man I love the twins! My favorite scenes are the ones where they show their sibling bonds, it reminds me so much of my older sibling. I also appreciate how the game gives each twin time to grow and have character develop apart.

I'm not sure how I felt about Meteion, personally. Maybe you will see her again, who knows! The game loves doing callbacks with characters even if it isn't in the msq. There may be hope!
