Since it has become painfully clear that I will never own more than a small house I have decided to turn it into a game that my friends have a chance to benefit from. When I bid on a plot I post a screenshot of my bid on my Discord server. Then my friends get to guess how many bids I will lose by. They cannot pick zero. If the number they guess can be added to or subtracted from my number to equal the winning number, I pay them a million gil.
In the event that an absolute miracle were to happen and I win the bid I will pay everyone who participates 100k gil. That rule is just there for the sake of being there. Anyway, if housing has you down, maybe give this a try to brighten your day a bit.

Cultivating that attitude is easier said than done! But if possible I'd recommend it over stewing in your own misery, which seems like a prime way to make sure your bad time feels even worse. Unless you're taking it with good humor? Hard to tell from a textual post.

But the game decided to send me a very clear message when I put a bid on a medium in Goblet which was in a poor location and was individual only, so I knew it would get around only 20 bids. My bid was number 8, the winning bid was 13, but they never claimed it. So I bid on the same location in the next round and get number 10. and the winning bid was 8. At that point I knew I would never, under any circumstances, win a bid on a medium or large.Quote:
