Cross platform with different expansions?

Hi guys!

You should probably heard this question a lot over the years, still I could not find a relaxing answer for it.

I bought endwalker expansion for ps5 and I am currently doing the Shadowbringers MSQs. My question is when my console is occupied and I would like to continue playing the game on the steam deck how can I acieve it?

I know I have to buy the same copies for the game on pc as well, I guess I cannot play it with the currently installed trial version on steam right?

Let's assume I buy the game for the steam version too, and the next expansion comes out, I buy it on ps5 but not for pc. I start the new content on it (going into new areas, starting an expansion class, etc.) Can I still access the old content on the steam deck then too?

What will happen? I got teleported to an older expansion location or changes job for previous content?

You will need to purchase the Full version on Steam to gain access to same content.

If you purchase the Starter edition, you will only get access to Heavensward while playing on PC.

One thing to note on PC is that, Steam and Windows PC (SE Store) versions of the game are not compatible, that means you cannot add a Steam account to an SE account that already has the Windows PC version registered.

Yes, you will need to buy Dawntrail on both platforms, if you buy it on PS5 you can only access Dawntrail areas* on PS5, you can still access the jobs on another platform without Dawntrail.
You will need to logout in an area that the other platform can access too, otherwise it wont let you login since you'd not have access because you didn't say, buy it on Steam.

yeah the poster above basically nailed it, if you want to play it in any way other than how you already do, you got to pay all over again, welcome to the cross play scam.
