Should the devs appologise to the community

Please try to leave constructive replies instead of just saying anything to be heard
I've been toying with this question in my mind basically since around 6.2 when it became obvious this game was'nt going to deliver any real of meaningful change.. seeing the clear nature of the cash shop and the exploitation in the games current content output vs what we pay our sub for, anbd ofcourse that 7.0 will be a min of 6months between patches of basically... nothing...

should the developers appologise for the state of the game?

and if not... what level of accountability SHOULD we hold them to? if any..

(ofcourse this is just a question i am not demanding this or that people do this so please read it properly before you start attacking me)

What would they apologize for? They have delivered exactly what anyone who has been playing for multiple expansions can expect. How much you like that content is a your mileage may vary situation, but they have given us what they told us we were getting. If you want to hold SE accountable, the only tangible thing you can do is to unsub and deprive them of that money. Otherwise keep giving feedback to try and shape what the devs decide to give us for follow on expansions.

so we did actually get a 4gamer interview with a really concerning statement in it, and on the note of unsubbing, honestly.. if this is the stance they continue to take. i actually WILL be

"If you plan to have multiple jobs produce items, it will take a toll on your inventory if you go around collecting special reinforcement items, and it will be difficult to tell how much you have strengthened. Therefore, we made it so that Allagan tomestones"

Good. I had a three year unsub break and came back. Before that was 2 years.

You know what I did in between? Played one of the other thousands of games out there. New people still flocked in and took my place.

It's unrealistic to expect this to be a second life. You all want houses and clubs and DJs and parties. It's a GAME! Done with the game? Move on. Nothing to do? Go OUTSIDE!

"If you want more than a few days of content once every 5 or 6 months get a life"

News flash : even if people took a break for a year, there would be at most 2 weeks of content to do before running out of content again.

honestly this is a reply of complete ignorance. without solid evidence. its the weakest paper thin arguement designed to poorply deflect widespread criticism of the game.. You have absolutley no idea how my real life functions, i spent 6 entire weeks away from this game with my boyfriend, going out every day, traveling and living our lives, but when we came back to the game 6 weeks later.. still there was nothing for us to do.. and when that arguement fails. nhilism is ususally the second go to automatic response "well theyll never listen anyway" i dont understand the point of these replies.. they offer nothing.. ive played other games and came back, like ff7R and ill play ff7RR, and ill still come back and ffxiv will still be the same... what must i do to prove to you people the game is underperforming? when will u open ur eyes.. when the entire ship is sinking? what is about the change players want ur so afraid of? that u might need to invest a little more into the game? is your nostalia for the game clouding your reasoning? this game can improve without asking mroe of you. everything is optional

We knew before EW launched that there was no exploration content tied to the relic this time. Honestly, after we found out the second step was going to be another 1500 tome step we knew that relics were going to be pretty tomestone weapons this expansion instead of something you work towards achieving. You can disagree with SE's mindset towards this, God knows I do, but they have followed through on what they said we were getting this expansion for better or worse.

Friend of mine had a baby in February. She still managed to catch up recently on just about everything except raids, which she retired from given the circumstances. She's spending more time on a second character than her main because there's that little for her to do.
