Mandervilles are way too good for how easy they are to get.

I know that in the grand scheme of things Manderville weapons are far enough behind in ilvl that they can't compete with the Tome or Savage weapons for most of the expansion, but I really question why they decided to make them better than the current-tier Extreme weapons. EX weapons are already undyable and usually ugly, so most people don't have any reason to farm them for glamour, but with them also being worse than a practically free welfare weapon, I have to imagine that kills the lifespan of the content even quicker. (Yes, I know mounts exist, but it's just one less thing to farm).

Back when Eureka or Bozja was current, you at least had to grind in the expansions' unique zones, so even if the weapons were just as strong then as the Mandervilles are now, you at least had to put in some work for it. Now Daddy P just swoops in a few weeks after a patch drops and says "It looks like you haven't killed Golbez yet little Timmy, But that's okay. You're a special boy. And do you know what special boys get? That's right! They get Shiny new sword! One that's even better than Golbez's, so you don't need to bother with him."

Now that this expansion is wrapping up, it's about time for Daddy P to swoop in again and slap all the savage raiders in the face. "Wait, You spent 60 hour progging the tier and another 50 on reclears so you could farm the weapons? Well, that was stupid. Here, I brought you something, it's a Shiny new sword! It only cost 6000 tomestones, and it's got 500 substats more than that crummy old Savage weapon!"

If SE wants Relics to be a welfare weapon tomestone dump, I'm totally fine with that. I just hope they shift the power Balance so that Relics are marginally inferior to all other current tier-gear, and either buff Savage/Ultimate weapons or nerf the Final Form Relic. Reward the min/maxers for completing content by giving them that 0.1% DPS edge, and satisfy the casual and social community with some "good enough" gear.

I don't disagree with the sentiment that I wish there were more to the relics than turn over 1500 non-capped tomes a few times, however relics have always been BiS for everyone at the very end of an expansion regardless of how you got them and have always been there for everyone to do throughout the expansion. You already are going to have a "0.1% DPS" edge by virtue of having savage gear since the casuals have "good enough" gear in all the other slots if they never do savage. Savage weapons are BiS for ~8 months this expansion and the EX weapons will be stronger than relics for a few months due to the EX trials coming out on the 6.x patch while the relic comes out on the 6.x5 patch.

I also question, why does it matter? The tier is long over by the time relics overtake savage weapons as BiS and at that time the expansion is effectively over.

I don't really see the big deal as far as the weapons go in comparison to raid gear. Obviously I don't like how relics have been handled this expansion, but I don't really think it matters.

From what I know, the release times of relics in comparison to the release times of each tier hasn't changed right? Early clears have already gotten their rewards, and it doesn't really matter if stragglers clear with better gear later on anyways.

The only bis step is the last one... and even that is applicable as an edge only to Ultimates.

At best, since they're released at the same time of the V&C (well, not this time though and who knows what's DT's V&C schedule), they can be useful for Criterion prog if the player didn't get a Savage weapon.

Just want to say this really. The savage tier is at an end when they reach this point so nobody has ever really cared.
