A plead from the Roleplaying community (Suggestions & Improvements)
I think the roleplaying community still needs a lot more QoL, here are a few I've been gathering up and thinking about myself;
- Chat bubbles with an option to toggle on and off. It will immensely deepen the roleplay experience and even help regular players to keep their eyes on the player they are talking to instead of the cold chat box below.
- Raidwide markers as roleplayers in events, you place down markers to notify a target to represent a monster to kill or an npc of relevance as the dungeon master. The markers still cannot be represented for more than eight people at a time, which makes larger events harder to micromanage and clunky.
- More character customization I think with the popularity of the game and it's time overall, a good addition to it's ten year marker would be to allow more character customization options aligning with the graphical updates.
- More enterable buildings and possibly more clutter & sights to explore in the open world. It's kind of saddening as a roleplayer to see so many nice art concepts of areas and locations, but when it comes down to it, most houses are mostly set dressing and can't be entered. Roleplayers are craving more reasons to have events in the open world and camp out / in cities.
- Opening up more lore to the races and jobs I think they should open up more lore exploration into how classes function and are represented in the world, something even akin to "class halls" in WoW. For example, dragoons trying to find their way after the Dragonsong war and reconnecting with dragons as allies. Monks trying to rebuild the Fist of Rhalgr, Gunbreakers training a new generation in Bozja. Opening up Duskwights position in Gridania and the Keeper position in the Shroud. Not just sidenotes or one npc saying "This is the situation now", but actual fully fledged locations and storylines that open up the old locations in Eorzea, Far East and beyond.
- Persistent emotes, that last more than 5 seconds. Aside from more emotes being good. A persistent read emote, a kneeling emote and a lot of other emotes being a cycle instead of something you have to click over and over again would be a good addition and add to immersion and relieve players from having to click.
- Explorer dungeons having no time limit the explorer dungeons are great for screenshots, but having the timelimit makes having events inside dungeons clunky. Eventually having to exit and reposition. Removing the time limit would be beneficial to all.
If you have anything I missed that would improve your roleplaying experience, please do leave a comment! I think it's important we discuss about things in the open so things can maybe change someday if enough people ask for it.
