Shift worker unable to get DF groups on Materia DC, SE, help!
I'm a shift worker. That means I work anywhere from a 4 hour to a 10 hour shift, in any given 24-hour period. I start some shifts at 03:00, some at 09:00, some at 14:00, etc. Because I typically get three or four different shift times per week, my login times for FF14 are very erratic. I've accepted that I can't do endgame raids or statics.
What I find incredibly frustrating, however, is the fact that outside of the 18:00 to 22:00 timeslot, the Materia DC is completely dead. Something like 90% of the Australia-based FC of around 30 people that we brought over from the Tonberry/Typhon servers (Elemental DC), have moved on to other FC's, or moved back to Elemental. None of the new non-"4-man MSQ/levelling dungeon" content interests me, and I really miss being able to go in to a fully-occupied Bozja and destroy stuff, any time of the day. I love healing or tanking in random roulette dungeons with people I've never played with, so I can adapt to their playstyles, keeping it dynamic and interesting.
Sqeenix, for the love of Pete... PLEASE, give us the ability to DC hop, or give incentives to players from other DCs to come over to our DC and complete their daily roulettes. Outside of peak time, even as Tank in Need, you'll be waiting up to an hour for roulettes. I don't have more than a couple of hours every few days to play this game, and I don't consider faffing around in Island Sanctuary while waiting for a roulette, "fun". I took a break for a few weeks and lost my mansion (in a server where >50% of housing lots are empty), so I'm not bothering to buy another house. I want to be able to log on at random times of the day, queue for a roulette, and actually get to play with OTHER HUMANS. Why is this too much to ask for?
