Bots Beating Creatures Underground

Hello,

I'm facing some of the bots in the game, and they are beating creatures from underground. Sometimes they just appear from nowhere, but up in the sky and kill my creatures.

What sorcery is this? :confused:

You haven't run into the bots that wait for someone else to activate a quest area that spawns mobs and then spawns theirs from underground so the real player gets swamped with 50 mobs?

I've been seeing this a LOT in low zones lately

If there are 50 mobs spawning, it's because there are 50 bots stacked one on top of the other underground.

They're not waiting for someone to show up, they're just following their script. Real players don't exist for them.

It can be quite fun to pull the mobs away from the spawn point to the top of a rock or another location where LoS prevents the bots from attacking (any real player could still attack so it wouldn't be a problem). The Daniffen Pass (with the spawned Mudpuppy quest) is a good spot - you can force the bots out from underground but they'll stay in the water where they still can't hit the mudpuppy.

I must be missing something. Why are people doing it? I can't imagine it yields a whole lot of XP. Is it for some rare materials?

They are botting through the MSQ, with teleports and all.
Zerging through the MSQ on 50ish characters nets a lot of gil at the end of it.

Bots exist. You usually don't see them, but occasionally you will, if you pass by a quest they happen to all be doing. Sometimes they are in city states teleporting around and you spot them doing it. They spend a lot of time underground so that you don't see them as well.

Used to be worse.
I remember seeing multiple of them waiting to perform a specific action next to the Sylphs. Tbh i don't worry about it.

Oh, and you'll want to edit that first picture.
You will get suspended for having usernames in it of the bots.

That's kinda weird... Why? Isn't it best to show their name, and then devs can ban them?
