Trying to title it in a way where there aren't any spoilers, as I'm mostly referring to the minion drop rate. Specifically, for Shiromaru.
Maybe posting here will actually help, or maybe people will just laugh at me; I don't know, but I'm tired.
I feel that the reward system for Mt Rokkon isn't worth the effort. The advertised minion, Shiromaru, only has a 1.5% drop rate; which reminds me of the chances of obtaining a mount from trials (between their drop rate and rolling against seven other people, it feels lower than it is)...but this situation is much, much worse than mount farming.
Unlike the mount farming, trying to farm for Shiromaru has zero benefits. I'm accumulating extra Potsherds and I'm not going to have anything to spend them on.
I feel like, just with mount farming, there should be an option at the vendor in Sharlayan to purchase this minion for 99 shards just like with Trial totems. This way, even if people have really bad RNG with that appalling 1.5% drop rate, there's still a light at the end of the tunnel and they know that all that time will pay off whether it actually drops or whether they can turn those 99 runs into being able to purchase the minion.
Other drops are so rare that maybe I'll wind up with one or two braziers or stone lanterns, so it's not like I'm getting so many extras that I can sell them on the MB.
It doesn't take many runs to get all the vendor items, so all those Potsherds are just piling up with nothing to spend them on.
I've spent a couple hours a day for the past couple days trying to get that minion drop, and I have nothing to show for those hours spent except two braziers and a stone lantern; and a ton of useless garbage (the onibi prism...and at this point, the potsherds).
I was talking to my FC mates a bit about it, and honestly can't fathom why the drop rate would be so low for a Variant dungeon. If it's to try and keep the content relevant, that doesn't even really make sense because people can go into it solo; it's not like a dungeon or raid which new players might need to complete.
Not sure if anything will change, but I don't even understand why there aren't more rewards for the shards, why we can't buy the minion with potsherds instead of them becoming useless, and why the droprate for this minion is so abysmally low.

The minion drop rate seems the same as the drop rate from dungeons, which is about 2% as well. I used to farm dungeons and try to get the minion naturally but after a few years of doing this I accepted that minions just aren't meant to be farmed. They are meant to be a lucky drop you get that you sell for gil. If you want them for your collection, you are meant to just buy them.
I farmed Akademia Anyder casually for years all through Shadowbringers, I must have done it over 100 times and finally I just gave up. -

Its not just Mt.Rokkon. Dungeons that have minion drops are extremely abysmal. I do believe they should increase the drop rate for these. Or at the very least do this....
Increase the drop rate just a tad bit for running unsynced but increase it even more if you run the dungeons synced. -

The accumulated potsherds from multiple runs can net you a LOT of gil from the items you can spend them on. I feel like Mount Rokkon is a massive improvement over Sil'dihn Subterrane in that regard, since in the latter, you only had one glamour set (that was pretty mid imo) and one emote to spend them on. This time around, you have 2 glamour sets and a multitude of miscellaneous items that sell for a lot. Farming Mount Rokkon multiple times is a drag, but the rewards are great!
Also, I'm not sure if I'm in favor of increasing the minion drop rate or not, since the marketboard value wouldn't be as high as it is. Then again, it's gameplay that matters, and the amount of Variant Dungeon spamming gets stale fast. -
