Rant: Masked Canival and TT card.

I already complained about this for the Gogo card, and here I am again. I'm sick of this. Make up your mind, either TT card collection is something that can do by everyone (as 99% of the cards are), either it's something that is aimed to hardcore players.

I don't really mind the masked carnivale being difficult, some say it's some kind of savage solo prog, or at least high expert. Fine. What annoys me is that you keep locking cards behind that content. You want to link them to the Blue mage? Fine, link them to the blu log completion or the spell collection. It would spoil some character? Big news, gold saucer is already full of spoiler cards, for characters that were far more important for the story that freaking gogo or goldor.

Forcing your player to do content they don't care about has been a thing since ShB (hello Hildibrand questline) and it has to stop.

And this time you made the boss such hp bag that doing part one takes forever, even if you understood the strat. and the slightest stupid error make you begin from start.

At least, the behind for the behind expert cards (which are also not good idea to me, but at least unsync make them more easily obtainable later. Masked Carnivale barely becomes easier), you could rely on other people to raise you when you failed despite trying. But here it's just frustration.

we should not have to do a expert/savage content to complete a story content. This is so frustrating.

I can see coming the "git gud" comment, but I don't care.

They are easy once you figure out the small gimmicks, after that, it's no more difficult than any piece of story mode content. That's all they are, a couple of gimmicks around a couple of spells, and these gimmicks aren't entirely complicated to figure out.

I don't even want to say get good. - It's these kinds of incentives that get people touching content they may not otherwise touch, and frankly I just don't see Masked Carnival being the breaking point.

Edit: 'Forcing' players to do content they otherwise don't want to do has always been a thing in this game, long before Shadowbringers.

It's a bit like with old raid/trial encounters. Even now, I'm still missing TT card from Asphodelos: The First Circle - even tho I gain nothing from doing it. :p

At least with Blue challenges, it's guaranteed card after single completion.

I mean, BLU Academy exists for a reason.

its not hard content, there's like 4 mechanics in the whole 2 part fight.

There is almost no random variation to mechanics, there are no party members to hold you back, no significant dps check. Blu carnival is way easier and quicker to learn than ex fights. Watch a guide, get the spells and you're basically done. All of the spells required are easily obtainable solo, even diamondback and aetherial mimicry can be solo'd. You're giving up the guaranteed learn if you unsync but you still have a chance to learn the spells that way.

I mean I don't mind it personally, regardless of it. -- This might be a little controversial -- But this game needs more excuses to get people to do things and content in the game, not less. If anything, BLU doesn't have enough rewards behind it. If the game has a particular piece of content, which has a reward tied to it, and you want the reward, and so feel motivated to then engage in that particular piece of content then it is working as intended, frankly, and again, need more of it, not less.

If I'd actually got something out of it, then I wouldn't mind that much.

But having to run old content, just for 0.0003% chance for TT drop, on repeat - and get literally nothing out of it, is kinda jarring.
