The gaslighting on this forum should stop

Seriously.

Many of you are psychopaths (OK, not actual psychopaths).

Go through any post, and you'll see gaslighting.

Always from the same people too. It is like this:

Person 1: Had a bad experience

Person 2: No. You made it up.

Person 1: No. It happened.

Person 2: I'll now stalk you and call you a liar every time you post.

Always the usual suspects. Even a year away from this forum, and those people are still hanging around willing to call people liars for the very real stuff that happened in the game. Seen it 4-5 times today.

Seriously. Get help. You have mental health issues if you're gaslighting people over a damn game.

We all need to accept that every poster on these forums is Titanmen. Including ourselves. Acceptance is the first step.

As an abuse survivor whose past abusers would gaslight me a lot, I agree. I will never understand why people are so quick to accuse others of making up the experiences they've went through ...

Why is it so hard for people to let others vent about their experiences without fear of that happening? And as you said, they need help. They truly do. Hurt people hurt people and it's not right!

there are a couple issues that the OP is either not aware of or ignoring...

1. there are forum users who will be for or against any post regarding the community, good or bad. this is a public forum, thats to be expected.
2. there have been many many posts in these forums without context, and once the context is known, its clear that the person originally posting was not "innocent" by any stretch of the imagination

dont get me wrong, any shape or form of abuse is wrong, and I have little doubt it happens in game. it should always be reported... period. SE should definitely come down harder than they do on the offenders.

that being said... why post to the forums? as you have pointed out, it is not a suitable place to do so. not only that, but it is almost certain to attract the attention of the people you dont want into tracking you down in game.

does the gaslighting need to stop, sure. will it? no, because people are people, not just FF14 people, but all people. the human race is not exactly topfilled with good examples of great altruistic behaviour. plus, as someone says, the obvious troll army on here comprises a vast majority of likely posters. how or why they need to run so many accounts for anything other than RMT is beyond me.

I realize some people are waaay too invested on the "community" (more than the actual game, in fact) that they would go to silly lengths to make sure that the FF14 community "saves face".

But on other hand, if you go to a public forum full of strangers just to vent, and besides that you (a)provide no evidence. (b) omit/alter facts or (c) demand to be treated a certain way. You're just asking for trouble.
And that applies everywhere, not just here.
