DoL HQ rate?

I recently got my Miner and Botanist to 50. With some HQ gear and food I'm at Gathering 105, Output 114, Perception 142 and attributes at about 230 each.

Just wondering what others see in HQs per hour? Been trying Supple Spruce Branches and Darksteel/Astral Rock and so far the only thing I've gotten was two Resin +1.

Not complaining or anything, just curious for the sake of budgeting time.

Try getting perception to 170. Use Rolenberry Cheese if you fall short.

Its very random.

My perception with food is 170+ and when I was farming astral rock there was a day i had 3-4 in an hr then nothing for couple of hours. On some days I get 1 per hour.

Same with DS and Cobalt. Sometimes I hit 1-3 HQ per node and sometimes I hit none for a long time.

Hopefully with my new militia sledgehammer the results will be better

For miner, try to raise mind to at least 270. You should see Master of Rock proc more often.

Awesome, thanks for the tip. I assume the same is true for BTN with INT and Master of Timber?


And as for getting 170+ Perception, do people abandon Gathering? Only way I really see to get there is to replace my Velveteen Doublet Vest of Gathering with a Woolen Doublet and Linen Gaiters with Dodoskin Espadrilles +1 along with HQing my Electrum Earring, Raptorskin Survival Belt and Felt Coif of Toiling.

That's because its affected by moon phase and other factors.

Perception and to a lesser extent Output should be what you gear for. Output caps at around 120ish (I believe it's when you get the max amount of attempts at a node, 8 for miner and botanist). You don't need Gathering at all when you're 50 as you are high enough for items to be in the same spot during the "strike" (2nd) phase of the minigame and you REALLY have to pile on the gathering in order to make the toughest-to-gather items 1-strike successes. You should never fail once you learn where an item is located either way.

Random number generator plays more of a factor on HQ than anything else.

Stats are a joke for DoH and DoL.

You can synth difficulty recipes 10 levels higher than your level with little to no difficulty.

Most of my gear is +1 and melded with the appropiate tier IV and i barely notice a difference.

Theres currently a total inbalance of DoW/DoM stats effect compared to DoH/DoL.

Sad considering how they have constantly said that they want DoH/DoL to be a primary factor in this game.

Little to no content for DoH/DoL is one thing, but stats that do little to nothing?

I'm sure 2.0 will be the appropriate changes.

gotta be facing left, /grovel at node, have 30k GC seals (you just need them on you), moon has to be between almost full & full, then you can DOL your node ~ you should get at least 1~8 +1's in that hour, Afterwards send yoshi-p a nice e-mail in proper japanese afterwards thanking him for the awesome way things currently run or else you wont get anymore +1's for another 1~2 hours.

I've found that getting your perception up makes a huge difference. I have two gear sets for botanist one of which is for actual botany the other for hamlet defence. The hamlet defence one is focused on gathering to compensate for the lost gathering due to weilding a broken lvl one tool. The actual botany gear is focused on perception. As an experiment I tried both sets for 4 hours each in nine ivies for a few days. I noticed I was getting a lot more hq spruce branches but the increase was lower than that for the resin/logs etc. Only tried it for three days so it could just have been luck that accounted for the different increases between the spruce and other drops but it's an absolute certainty that loading on as much perception as you can makes a big difference.
