What's the restriction of FC houses per account?

I'm afraid I no longer know the answer though. What I wrote was correct at the time (2 years ago), but since then we've had new housing wards and how you get a house changed completely to the new lottery system, so I have no idea.

I suspect it's probably still the same and there isn't actually an FC restriction per account, despite what their housing website says. As far as we know the reason that rule was originally reversed was because it caused problems with automatic FC ownership transfers. It would skip over people who had alts in others FC with a house, which caused confusion as the FC leader had no way to know that so who they thought would get the FC wouldn't necessarily get it. I did hear of an FC even ending up "leaderless" because it had nothing to transfer it to, although search as I can I can't find any thread on this so maybe that was reddit or I'm remembering wrong. But anyway, people also couldn't transfer FCs to their second in commands for the same reason, which would actually be a fairly easy way to test it now.

So my thoughts are if the the restriction was back then we surely would have seen at least a few threads from people complaining about these automatic transfer issues and I personally haven't seen anything like that, except for that brief period years ago when it was an active rule. But then maybe SE fixed just the automatic transfer part to ignore the rules or maybe it just hasn't come up as housing demolition has been off more than it's been on...

But as I said above, all of that is just a guess, sorry that I can't update/verify what I originally wrote, but maybe someone else can!

You can have 8 fc houses per server because no rule or restriction prevents the transfer of fc leadership to another character on a different account or on the same account.

However, if you want to buy more than one fc house per server using only one account, the character that bought a house must leave the fc they bought it for before any of your characters can buy another fc house on the same server. The game doesn't allow you to bid if a "buyer" character has access to the fc house it bought. Theoretically this allows one account to obtain a maximum of 5 fc houses on one server using 8 characters as members.

There's no meaningful restriction on the number of FC houses per service account at the world level beyond the number of characters you can have on a world.

I underlined the key parts. Only the status of the character who has made a FC house purchase matters. If they remain in that FC, then no more FC houses can be purchased by other characters on the same service account and world. If the purchasing character leaves the FC, then other characters on the same account and world can purchase another FC houses even if the FC Master of the first FC is also on the same service account and generally would be considered the "owner".

Basically, it's a meaningless rule created for the sake of appearances. I've got a FC house on Coeurl right now but could start up another FC to buy another one if I wanted since the character that had purchased the FC house was later transferred to a different world. It doesn't matter that the FC Master is also on my service account. The purchasing character is no longer in the FC so the purchase restriction has been lifted.

this was really hard to clarify, but basically if I use a 2nd service account, I can buy more houses on the same world as long as I kick the person who bought the house from the FC after I buy and claim

Yes. The second service account would needed to start the FC and add your other characters to it. Using it to help with the house purchase is optional (though helpful if you want to try to purchase 2 at the same time).

I wish I could say this isn't possible but it's what SE allows so I'm not going to demonize anyone for doing what is allowed. Marilith has plenty of empty plots both personal and FC if you're planning to do it on Marilith. Perhaps you'll end up in the same ward where I have apartments for my alts (the ward my FC is in has since changed to personal only).

You only need another account's 3 characters to sign the fc creation paper. A friend can make 3 alts or you can bribe strangers to sign it.

1. Make/move 8 characters to Dynamis or someplace else with thousands of empty plots.
2. Create 5 fcs with help from someone. Also create a linkshell and ask someone to add all your characters to it. Use the linkshell to send fc applications between characters.
3. Put 4 characters in one fc. Wait 30 days and get to rank 6.
4. With characters A+B+C+D in an fc, bid with B.
5. Wait until the result period.
6. Accept house with B, transfer lead to A. Leadership can only be transferred to a character that has been in the fc for 30 days.
7. Move B+C+D to next fc owned by E.
8. Repeat from step 3: wait 30 days, buy a house with C, transfer lead to B, move C+D+E. And so on.

Bonus tip: after buying 5 houses, move F (5th bidder) to the first fc, wait 30 days and transfer leadership from A to F. Now you can move A+G+H between fcs to relocate any or all houses without waiting 30 days.
