Collectables
What is the point of collectables? Every time I find one, and get it, then try to turn it in nobody will ever take it. Then all it does is just clog up my already very limited inventory space. I don't see what the motivation is for a player to spend their time to gather these if collectable appraiser never seem to want them. Especially when in some maps like Churning Mists where some gathering nodes are only collectables, and I need to level gathering but these things don't stack, and I can't sell them. I thought I unlocked the ability to break them down but I never get the option to do when I right click them. It's very disconcerting, and frustrating.

"Rarefied" items are the ones given to Collectable Appraisers for scrips, while the other collectables are for custom deliveries and generally aren't worth storing. The aetherial collectables (from Ephemeral nodes) are the ones that get broken down. Back in the day you also had to use an action to gather collectables, but only Fishers have to do that now.

The two reasons an appraiser wouldnt take a collectable is that its the wrong type(a quest or custom delivery collectable attempting to be handed in at a scrip appraiser), or because you didnt raise the rating over the minimum to turn in. Try to focus on the "rarefied" items unless a quest or NPC specifically asks for something else. And if you do end up with some collectables you cant turn in, i believe you can right click them and select "lower quality" to turn them into "normal" items that you can then stack and potentially vendor off.
