I'd have to say right now, my favorite thing that I've done in the game lately is Variant Dungeons. I loved Sil'dah with Nanamo. Super looking forward to Mt. Rokon (even if it is Hancock. >_>)

Even though XIV has a specific anime aesthetic, my favorite thing is how we can end up with so many "visual archetypes" for our characters.
Characters? Regula, Hien, Varis, Elidibus, Emet, Magnai, Yotsuyu, Fordola.
Locations? Garlemald, Bozja, Rabanastre, Gridania, Kugane.
Jobs? Machinist and Red Mage.
Skill/spell animation and FX, in most MMO they look clunky/mechanical and overall cheap.
At this moment?
Eureka.
We are in Pyros now, which is the map I like the least, but in general it is a lot of fun doing this old content again with a few friends who have never been there. Plus I am getting a new relic weapon.
I am running a submarine / airship fleet and LOVING IT. There is a lot of complexity involved, stat balancing, its a load of fun.
As nice as the new Logos system was there... I just disliked that map so much that getting through it made Pagos look a comparative joy.
(Actually, Pagos wasn't bad with a chatty grind group, since being less rewarded for / dependent on hitting every NM farm actually let you sink into a particular pull rhythm/optimization that'd make different areas feel more distinct from one another, and allow groups to chill a bit more.)
Glam and gpose + chat with people :)
Hanging out with people and housing are the best thing in this game for me, content is a bit meh in my opinion, but those 2 really keep me in the game. Venues can be fun too with friends.
