Crafting Idea: Assembly Line Party with Chain Bonuses

Hey, I was just throwing this idea out there in my LS chat, and everyone said to post in the forums. I did a quick search, and I didn't see anything exactly like this, so here goes:

What if crafters could form a party and take turns making items? Everyone would work on a single item, with the steps distributed evenly. Items could also be chained for an experience points bonus, just like fighting parties, by completing items before a chain timer runs out. Maybe there could even be crafting skill chains where one member uses a skill, then another member uses a skill, and combined they add some sort of bonus to the process.

Also, the items wouldn't have to be party-exclusive or rare/ex. They could appear in the loot list upon completion. Say you would normally get 12 of something on your own, then you might get less as the result is distributed amongst the party members. However, you would get more experience in exchange through the bonuses. In other words, this concept is designed for leveling--not necessarily crafting for the market. It would also make crafting more social.

A similar concept could be applied to gathering parties as well. A party of gatherers could go out and gather items, with experience points bonuses for chaining gathered items within a time limit. Some form of gathering skill chain bonuses could also be implemented.

Yep, this needs to happen. Why should DoW/M be the only classes that get to party together? Though it seems kinda pointless, I've done a few gathering parties together, and it was fun to be with people doing something that you can only solo. Same with crafting, I've got together with other people in my LS and had a great, social crafting session.

I think it would be cool if you could join a party of crafters and the game would look at the mats in everyone's inventory instead of just your own, and you could make things as long as the party collectively had the materials.

In exchange for potentially leeching off of someone else's materials, you get a big exp bonus. Could set up an algorithm to reward more exp based on the number of mats being used by other players, so in order to get the highest bonus, everyone would have to have all the mats for the recipe you're making. If someone is missing one of the mats, then they would get less exp for not contributing to the group.

This would also make it easier to have someone craft gear for you because it cuts out the step of actually trading the items.

To make it safe, you could have a toggle similar to repair request, that lets you decide if you want to 'share' your materials or not.

This would also allow DoL and DoH to team up together easier. If the DoH has no materials but the DoL has a bunch, they can join party and share materials, and the crafter will be able to get exp from making the items and the DoL can get a percentage of the exp from each synth since they provided the materials.

I like your idea for organizing shared materials. Put all of this together, and I think crafting would definitely rival fighting.

i was thinking something myself about DOL/DOH party's had an idea you fill the party up with 4 DoH and 4 DoL (Maybe make this a mini game might work better.) {Might be something like hamlet not sure havent done much of it yet myself.}

But back to the idea. Start of say in a little building and the 4 crafter's stay here while the 4 garthers go out and gather items, and bring them back to the little house or what ever for the crafters to start crafting, after the crafter is done with the item they put it in a box or chest by just click it to get there XP or points towards the mini game.

After the mini game is over the chest will pop up and all the items the crafters made will pop in the chest and be shared out between the 8 people equally as well as a nice XP boost at the end.

its an idea i'm working on atm not totally finished yet but the party idea ia a great idea as well kinda mixs in with mine. but soon as i get this idea totally finished i'll post a fourm of it.
