Just started messing with Bard and noticed that minuet of rigor will end my ballad of Magi effect and vice versa......Is this suppose to happen, because if so it is rather upsetting :(

Yeah, Swfitsong, Ballet, Minuet, and Paon all overwrite each other, but if there are two bards in the party their buffs won't over rite each others.
So you could do Ballad and the other could to Minnuet. Also, if the mages and melee are far enough appart you can keep different songs on them without overwriting.
You can only sing one song at a time. If you tried to do two, imagine the jarbled mess that would come out of your mouth.
Of all the birds that ever I see...
...it's fur was the colour of the darkest night...
...one we go to Linder's farm and burn it to the ground, oh...
...Good King Moggle Mog! Good King Mog!
you can also buff the party separately according to what they need. just make sure they're standing far away from each other.
I guess it does make sense. I remember having to split the party up in XI to cast different songs, was just hopeful that I wouldn't anymore :) Only difference there was that Bard was not doing a lot of damage in XI so it was really no big deal what spell bard had on themselves, but being Archer means that I will have to make sure I start and end with the right spells to not waste MP.... Oh well thanks for the information.
Don't worry, you will get a trait at level 52 that let's you Cast 2 Buffs on one person at a time. =D
